AMY VS. BEYONCE: THE BATTLE FOR BOND

There were conflicting reports out of Britain over the weekend over whether UK soulstress Amy Winehouse or American R&B diva Beyonce will sing the theme song for Quantum of Solace, the 22nd film in the James Bond film series.
While Wino continues to battle her own personal demons publicly, it looks like she’s squaring off against Beyonce in a post-Grammy rematch. (As you may recall, Amy’s Rehab nabbed the Song of the Year trophy from Beyonce’s Irreplaceable last year.)
On Sunday, Miss Winehouse told the London Daily Star, “I’ve done loads of Bond songs. There are loads of good ones I’m really happy with. I don’t know what is wrong with them or what the problem is, to be honest. It’s there, ready and done, and it’s up to them if they want it or not.”
Sounds good, except that the Sunday Express is hailing Beyonce as the new voice of the Bond movie due out October 31. “Music industry insiders say the former Destiny’s Child singer has become firm favourite after first choice Amy fell off the rails. But whether or not Beyonce records the theme will be down to Barbara Broccoli, daughter of the late Bond producer Cubby.”
So, what the big deal, anyway? After all, it’s just a theme song, right? Wrong. This song could be the best shot at an Academy Award nomination for a Bond movie theme in years.
That being said, Team Amy or Team Beyonce?

As you all know I don’t like either Beyonce or Amy, but personal feelings aside Amy has a MUCH better voice than Beyonce and I would much rather listen to Amy’s music for the rest of my life than one day of B’s wailing. How Irreplaceable could even come close to Rehab is beyond me, B didn’t even write the song herself did she? I think the industry is starting to move away from Amy though due to her personal life and when she’s running around all drugged up all the time that is bound to happen and I’m sure it has affected her professional life. Maybe her songs just aren’t up to scratch. Beyonce is probably a lot more professional but I don’t think she’s a good match for Bond…not enough class.

Beyonce is a good singer, yes even live, but she has no soul in her voice. Beyonce wants to sing like a Tina Turned Whitney Houston. Technically she is a good singer, but her voice does nothing for me. Amy, when she is somewhat sober, can give a killer performance and never fails to touch me.

even though i don’t want these tramps to sing a bond theme, not after Chris Cornell. Please why should it be some wining chick? Why not someone who’s cool and really ageless in music like Cornell was? Please no Beyonce, no screaming and wining and “dancing” like she’s gone crazy, and hysterical turns in her voice, i can’t even listen to her anymore, not for 3-4 minutes. and no amy please, a drug addict receiving that honor isn’t the best example. and she’s really looking horrible, the boneskinny body and the tattoos, and the attitude… just not right. she needs to go to rehab and gain weight. and do something to those tatoos. and beyonce, go and have a baby that’s so ‘in’ these days she cannot miss out on that, and that way she won’t mess up the movie with her “singing”.
