As Barbara Walters continues to tell all in her new memoir Audition, a few raised hackles were inevitable.
Former co-host of The View Star Jones is speaking out against her former employer, claiming that Babs told her to lie about her gastric bypass surgery before she was fired from the roundtable.
“It is a sad day when an icon like Barbara Walters, in the sunset of her life, is reduced to publicly branding herself as an adulterer, humiliating an innocent family with accounts of her illicit affair and speaking negatively against me all for the sake of selling a book,” Jones told Us. “It speaks to her true character.”

UPDATE: Barbara has responded to Star’s comments by not responding.

I am no Star fan but I thought it was a little weird for her to write about an affair about a respected retired statesmen when he is alive and has a family. I am sure he is not too happy about the book. None the less, the whole thing about the “sunset” of her life is rude.

It’s true. Who the fuck does Barbara Walters thinks she is to write a tell all book where she tells on everybody damn else? If she wants to air her own dirty laundry, fine, but she has no right to trash Star or Rosie. I don’t give a damn about that shithead of a Senator. Well finally somebody told it like it is. Babs was a HOMEWRECKER that caused DIVORCE and alot of pain to a family which everybody seems to be celebrating rather being shameful and apologizing for.

Star is a disgusting pig yet grudgingly I must admit she has a point. What does it serve for Baba to “out” a relationship with a married man over 30 years later? Bab’s didn’t have an affair all by her little lonesome self. In fact, the Senator’s wife dumped him because he was a habitual cheat, and Barbara wasn’t the first, nor the last, and none of this news IS news to anyone but some of you quick to lay the blame at BW’s feet while letting the dude off scott free. If Barbara didn’t write about the affair, someone else would have written it in an unauthorized biography so this is a preemptive strike on her part.
Star was stupid in not disclosing the gastric bypass surgery and forcing the other women to lie about it, on TV.

Agree with poster 14. Yes, she knowingly helped a man commit adultery… but he was the one in a relationship, and ultimately, the truly deceitful one. It’s the entertainment industry… I don’t expect any shining examples of morality.
