MADONNA DOES ‘ELLE’

Madonna is taking a page out of the Oprah Winfrey Handbook to World Domination by planning to build a girls’ school in Africa.

The Material One is in the process of applying to found the educational establishment in Malawi, where she adopted her son David in 2006.

She tells Elle magazine, “I’m buying land and getting permission to build a girl’s school. The women will play a big role in the future and rebirth of Malawi.”

Oprah co-founded the all-girls Henley-On-Klip Leadership Academy in South Africa in 2006. And Madonna, who currently governs a Malawi based charity project, isn’t the only U.S. star helping students in the African nation - Ricki Lake is helping to build a school founded by her Malawian nanny.

Why is this woman suddenly everywhere I look? I thought she was over… at least, I was hoping she was.

^I agree, she is EVERYWHERE these days. I need at least a brief respite from all things Madonna… is she promoting a CD? I’m not exactly up-to-date on the going-ons of the pop world.

too many magazine covers= overexposure. people can only take so much madonna. this girl’s school, while possibly noble in intentions, is overkill. does it really have to be publicized?

For someone whose career has been founded on being innovative, she sure is damn derivative when it comes to the rest of her life. Buying your own African orphan? Yep, that’s been done. Building a girl’s school in a poor (well, okay–they ALL are) African country? Yep, she’s an also-ran on that one, too.

Gee. You’d almost think her notions of charity are calculated strictly from what others have already done and the resultant press they got.

I used to like her, but her pathetic attempts to mimic the heartfelt charity of others really annoys me. She’s nothing but a media whore.

Overexposed???….She’s on 4 magazines covers (2 in the UK and 2 in the US) so far and all of a sudden it’s overexposure? You’ll be eating your words when her album is gonne hit the roof, which will happen. Never underestimate Madonna.

Since she began in early eighties, up till now, Madonna was and still one of the greatest artists who’s towering over pop music. She’s brilliant in many fields and succeeded to attract more fan all over the world and I’m no exception. As far as I’m concerned, I do love her way of performing and singing. I always try to attend her concerts whenever she comes near my town but some prices are unaffordable. Lately a friend has recommended me a site where to compare ticket prices for free before purchasing. And I really find this a good idea.

Of course, an artist’s tickets such Madonna must be pricy, but I do like to look for the cheapest ones because my purse is thin and can’t afford some prices.
