Mum-to-be Nicole Kidman shows off her glow (though not much of a baby bump) during a press conference for her new fantasy film, The Golden Compass, at The Peninsula Hotel in Tokyo, Japan on Wednesday.
Amid a packed audience filled with international press, the 40-year-old actress said she hoped to make more movies aimed at teenagers.
Said Nicole: “A lot of the films that I have made are adult films. I think once you have children, occasionally you want to make films that they can take their friends to.”
Her goal, she said, would be to perform in movies that appeal to both boys and girls of around 15 years old.
“It’s fun. It requires different skills,” the Aussie added.
Next up for knocked up wife of Keith Urban? Sunday night’s Oscar Awards where she’s scheduled to present!!

What the hell is up with that dress? It looks like they gave a sewing machine to a monkey.
She talks like no longer has any connection to her adopted children. I suppose Tom has complete contorl over them these days. I am happy for her that she has found love with Keith and they are having their won baby.
I met her at the Ritz in Montreal a few years ago. She is so gorgeous and so thin! I was very star struck!

Considering the role she was supposed to be filming right now had her having a sexual affair with a 15 year old, I guess that’s what she considers a “kids” movie. She’s been a mother for 15 years already and you can count on 1 hand the number of movies she’s made that haven’t had her naked. I guess her adopted kids don’t count.
I think she is probably just 3 months preggo, no baby bump yet.
Requires other skills huh Nicole? So…not taking your clothes off and having sex with your husband on camera like in Eyes Wide Shut? Or how bout getting naked yet again and hook up with a ten year old boy? Seriously…she could never be a teen role model considering the movies that she has made. I will never understand her whole clean cut image when she’s made the movies she has. But of course they’ve been done *artistically* (rolls eyes).

Why cant you people separate work(acting) and the roles that actors play…and their personal ethics? When you play a certain role, does that mean that you necessarily hold the views of the character you play? Grow up! And yes…Eyes wide shut was artistically done.Its not one of Kubrik’s best but from a directorial angle, it is artistic. But i guess pple like Stephi who are more into candy floss movies such as ‘how to lose a guy in 10 days”( or whatever) wouldnt really understand that.

I agree with Spinner’s assessment and personally like the film choices she makes. For me, the types of films she chooses are much more interesting to watch because they tend to involve characters that are complex and layered. I can imagine they’re probably much more interesting to play as well, if you’re an actress. I thought her films Birth, Fur: An Imagined Portrait of Diane Arbus and The Human Stain were particulary good. She’s certainly not a cookie-cutter type actress, and in my opinion that’s what makes her intriguing.

Did she get a new stylist? This is the second time she has appeared wearing something less than appealing in the past few months. And who ever designed this dress needs to be slapped back into reality.

When talking about The Golden Compass, Nicole said that she would NEVER do a movie if it was Anti-Catholic. So how can she say that but then go & do the movies she’s done? So signing onto a movie that has her having sex with a 15 year old is OK? Filming 6 days of sex scenes with a male model for Eyes Wide Shut is OK? She’s a hypocrite.
And yeah, that dress is awful.
