You’re still gonna have to wait to get Benicio Del Toro as Che Guevara t-shirts, but in the meantime, check out one of the first released photos taken on location in Puerto Rico, featuring the fearless actor channeling his inner Marxist revolutionary.
Benicio is starring in The Argentine, a Steven Soderbergh-directed flick about the Cuban revolution, from the moment Fidel Castro, Guevara and other revolutionaries landed on the Caribbean island, until they toppled the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista two years later.
This film simply had to happen. I mean, the physical similarities are so striking somebody had to cast Benicio as Che.
Pity it won’t be completed till 2008.

Okay THIS movie is going to be da SHIT - Love Benecio and love Soderbergh (though I was a little sad when he and Clooney dissolved Section 8 Productions). Can’t wait for this one.

they really do look alike and benecio is the $hit. but, enough with the glorification of che.

He is so sexy and the best choice for this role. He was so f-en hot in traffic , i remember watching it in the theater and thinking there is no man sexier and manly then him.

Yes a really amazing likeness indeed! He is perfect for the part! This should be a good movie, Benicio is a great actor and I love this historical dramas.

Benicio is a PERFECT casting for Che. Soderberg as director is too Hollywood, directors like Guillermo de Toro or Pedro Almodovar would be much better choices. They would be able to convey to the audience the real Latin socialist flavor.
