Accompanied by Rio de Janeiro’s governor Sergio Cabral, Madonna took time out of her busy schedule this afternoon (November 14) to visit Santa Marta shantytown in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The 51-year-old pop diva made her way to Brazil last week to meet various officials about setting up a children’s charity in the country.
Earlier this week, Madge finally met the family of her 23-year-old boyfriend Jesus Luz during her visit to the Brazilian capital.
That said, the Celebrate singer recently laughed off reports that she’s meeting her potential future in-laws by telling the New York Post: “I am going there strictly for fundraising and humanitarian purposes. That includes a meeting with the governor of Rio de Janeiro and sponsorship of a documentary about impoverished local children.”

Craving skankalina type media adulation.
Good for her. She should be spreading her money around. Afterall, she can’t take it with her.
What a dumb comment Anonymous 1. Madonna is incredibly famous, probably one of the most famous women in the world. She has been doing charity work since the early 80s. Why is it a problem that she continues doing charity work? Should she just lounge on some yacht in France saving up her millions, like most celebrities?
Just a reminder: Rio de Janeiro is NOT the capital of Brazil.
Madonna loves brazil!!!!!!!!!!!
I love madonna!!!!!!1
