With his t-shirt proudly tucked into his Banana Republic underwear, Scott Speedman was seen out and about in Los Angeles yesterday (August 10).

After spending an hour or so at The Grove shopping center in West Hollywood, the hunky Canadian-born actor could be seen chatting on his cell about upcoming plans.

It’s been a while since we last saw or heard from Mr. Speedman but he was just added to the cast of Barney’s Version, the film adaptation of Mordecai Richler’s acclaimed final novel. He join a star-studded cast that already includes Paul Giamatti as Barney and Dustin Hoffman as Barney’s foul-mouthed father, Izzy. Scott will portray Barney’s best friend Boogie while fellow actor Bruce Greenwood plays Blair, Barney’s romantic rival.

Barney’s Version tells the story of a cantankerous, hard-drinking man who may have been responsible for his buddy’s disappearance.

Minnie Driver, Rosamund Pike and Rachelle Lefevre are also set to star.
