Kara DioGuardi was all smiles as she walked around New York City today (June 23) with her friends after leaving Live With Regis and Kelly.

Not only did the American Idol judge help co-host the show but she also announced her impending wedding.

Along her walk, Kara celebrated the joyous day by going into a Starbucks for a treat and then donating some cash to a homeless man on the street.

Kara’s fiance is Mike McDuddy, a contractor who built a house next to the one she has in Maine. They met when she went over to complain that his house was too close to hers. When she saw him she says she thought he was “kind of hot.”

The lovebirds engaged last December. DioGuardi says the wedding is in “less than two weeks.” She didn’t say where it would be.
