Looking pretty in pink, Oprah was seen touring the famous Catholic church Sagrada Familia (Temple of the Holy Family) in Barcelona today (June 22).
Joined by ever-present sidekick Gayle King, the media mogul played the role of eager tourist as she spent the afternoon at the massive, privately-funded Roman Catholic church, which has been under construction since 1882.
Missing was Oprah’s longtime boyfriend, Stedman Graham.
Meanwhile, Oprah reportedly celebrated her 55th birthday yesterday by taking over a popular tourist attraction to hold a party for 1700 of her employees and their families.
The fiesta at the Poble Espanyol, a reconstruction of a Spanish village with shops, bars and restaurants, included concerts and performances by flamenco dancers.
It said the guests are to spend three days in the northeastern Spanish city before being treated to a 10-day Mediterranean cruise. They will travel from Barcelona on the Norwegian Gem liner, which has space for 3000 passengers, to Italy, Turkey, Greece, and Malta.
Oprah is reportedly paying for everything from transportation to food to “special activities” at a cost of about $5400 per person.
The grand total of Oprah’s company holiday? A cool $9.2 million!!!

When are Oprah and Gayle just going to come out already?? Gayle was an anchor here in CT for several years. She had to be one of the worst “readers” of news that WFSB had ever employed. She seemed like a nice lady but she really sucked as a newsperson. Apparently her relationship with O has afforded her quite a career. If O can’t afford to employ her friends, who can?
Dude I so agree with you. I cannot stand Gayle either. She is a passive agressive monster, would talk the ear off a tree and acts like the biggest baby ever. She claims not to know how to blow her nose either - that she was never taught. How mental is that? It’s no wonder that as much as she wants to remarry she hasn’t. I won’t even get into her thing about white men, but if a white person said it it would be called racist. I dare anyone to listen to her radio show for 6 months and not go nuts.
Hahah hot, itchy wigs! That’s exactly what I thought when I saw that top picture. It would be pretty amazing to be able to spend that much money on a vacation birthday celebration like that! Wow! Oprah has so much money and it’s not like she doesn’t give any to charity, so she can really do what she wants with it. She’s worked hard to be where she is today.
Oprah can spend her money however she wants, she’s earned it and she donates to good causes.

According to her earnings last year, it only took Opie less than 2 weeks to make the money to pay for this trip for everyone. Why not do it. With billions and billions in the bank she might as well make other people happy. There is only so much money she can spend on her loser friend Gayle.
