NICOLE SCHERZINGER looks amazing in anything (and almost nothing), but her custom-made Alice Temperley black-and-gold backless dress turned nearly every head in the house at the recent MTV Video Music Awards. Meanwhile, fashion fanatic MISCHA BARTON channeled her inner Nefertiti in the full-length tangerine version at a GQ magazine pre-Oscar party in Beverly Hills.

    HORRIBLE dress. Mischa looks like a schlump, and Nicole’s short in front, long in back is stupid.
    Nicole’s hair/make-up wins though- by far.

    When I first saw that dress on Nicole I thought she looked fantastic, until I noticed the train! Ew! Dresses need to be one length- short or long. Not both. I like the color of Mischa’s dress but it fits her terribly and just does not look good on her. For someone who claims to be such a fashionista she rarely looks very good.

    even though i HATE the train on nicole she clearly looks better here. mischa needs to learn which colours and styles really suit her and also to ditch the scruffy hair look- its not sexy at all.

    Mischa should have had hers tailored a bit. It’s way too loose around the neck.

    Even with that awful train, Nicole is rocking that dress, while Mischa looks like she’s playing dress up. I didn’t even like Nicole’s hair or shoes, but I thought that neckline was so striking when she wore it. I also prefer the dress in black because it sets off the gold so much better.

    I hate the fact that they’re undecided as to whether to make Nicole’s dress short or long and figured maybe they could get away with both. But I guess that’s better than just draping/hanging it on a coat rack with gorgeous shoes.
