Capping off their weekend off on a musical note, Matthew McConaughey and his girlfriend Camila Alves were seen happily singing along to the musical acts at the Surfrider’s Foundation Art in Music Festival at the Malibu Pier in Malibu yesterday (April 26).
While mom and dad made beautiful music, their 9-month-old son Levi could be seen snuggling up in a blanket.
Matthew has been making the media rounds lately promoting his latest romantic comedy, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, which opens Friday. Chatting with the Daily News, the 39-year-old actor opens up about babies, turning 40 and his secret plan to get fat.
Some highlights:
Matthew on whether he’ll have more kids: “Sure, maybe. This is going great right now. We’re having a ball. Right now Levi’s favourite toy is a carrot. No matter how many of those colourful toys you buy at Toys “R” Us or Babies “R” Us, his favourite toy is a carrot. He takes it everywhere. You’ve got to get a cold one. When it gets hot, he doesn’t like it as much and you have to get a cold one out of the fridge. Because it’s cold it feels good on his teeth, but he just likes the carrot.”
Matthew on turning 40 in November: “Starting at about, I guess, forever, I’ve always looked forward to getting older. When I was 14, I couldn’t wait to be 16 and get a driver’s license. Sixteen, couldn’t wait to be 18 so I could go to a bar and have a beer. Eighteen, I couldn’t wait to be 21 so I could go off to school or whatever. I talk to friends who aren’t that excited about getting older, and for me, I guess, when that number comes I appreciate it. Hopefully I’ll be sitting on my 40th birthday looking back and be pretty pleased with what’s gone on over the last 40 years. If I’m not pleased, something’s wrong with me, because it’s been pretty good.”
Matthew on his junk food of choice: “I’ll eat more cheeseburgers, man. That’s my favourite food. Man who invented the hamburger was smart; man who invented the cheeseburger was a genius.”
