After keeping a relatively low profile in the French countryside with hubby actor Johnny Depp, French beauty Vanessa Paradis is ready for her close up.
Described as “yet another interpretation of the Miu Miu woman,” Prada unveiled its Fall 2008 campaign starring the 35-year-old model/singer. Miuccia Prada chose Vanessa because she has “certain powerful independence” and captures “the overlapping qualities of fragility and feminine strength.”

Not seen since George Clooney’s earlier arrival, fans and photogs alike go camera crazy as megastar Johnny Depp arrives to the 80th Annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday joined by his Chanel-clad lady love Vanessa Paradis.
The often nominated but never awarded actor is once again up for the Best Actor trophy for his role in Sweeny Todd.
While we loved Depp in his latest Tim Burton collaboration, There Will Be Blood star Daniel Day-Lewis is a shoo-in for the prize.
Better luck next year, Johnny!

What do you get when you cross Drew Barrymore with Kate Moss and sprinkle in a little Moët? French chanteuse Vanessa Paradis!
The 34-year-old sorta kinda wife of Johnny Depp was the honourary attendee at the official Christmas lighting ceremony at The Champs Elysees in Paris today.
Vanessa helped Mayor Bertrand Delanoe with annual ceremony which marks the start of the holiday season.
Voila!
(Yes, it’s that slow of a news day.)

Looking nearly human, Fergie was all seductive stares as she joined the always gorgeous Vanessa Paradis (Johnny Depp’s babymama) as they arrived to attend Chanel’s Fall-Winter 2007/2008 Haute Couture fashion collection created by none other than fan-wielding designing extradonaire Karl Lagerfeld, in the Paris suburb of Saint-Cloud, France today.
Only a handful of houses are authorized to use the couture tag, which comes with a strict set of guidelines fixed by the French government. But high costs in recent years have led labels (including Emanuel Ungaro and Balmain) to close their couture workshops.
The price of dresses, which take hundreds of hours to complete, can climb into six figures.
Nonetheless, leading purveyors including Chanel, Lacroix and Dior have reported strong sales in recent months.

To check out the entire Chanel Fall-Winter 2007/2008 collection, see below the cut. It’s classic Chanel (in all its tweed) with a futuristic touch. Not bad, Karl.
