Who needs Sex and the City when you’ve got the ladies of The View?
Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Barbara Walters and Sherri Shepherd all joined forces on Wednesday night when they attended an Evening with the Hosts of The View at The Paley Center for Media in New York City.
All the gals looked lovely in their best ladies-who-brunch attire…except for Whoopi, of course. She showed up in finest jeans and sneakers combo. Gotta love it!

For those of you who are acutally able to hold down a job, check out Barbara Walters’ big announcement on ‘The View’ today proclaiming funnygal Sherri Shepherd as the fifth permanent moderator on the daytime talk show.
“I am thrilled and honored to be working with a trailblazer, an Oscar winner, a fellow comedienne and a survivor,” Sherri stated in a release.

Moments ago, Barbara Walters revealed the worst kept secret in showbiz — Sherri Shepherd has officially taken a permanent co-host seat on ‘The View.’
“I’m so excited!” she yelled. “I’m actually one of the girls!”
If you didn’t know who Sherri, the former legal secretary explained it this way: “I’m the black girl on all the white shows.”
Congrats, Sherri. Let’s hope you can breathe some life into the mind-numbing show.

Actress/comedian Sherri Shepherd will be introduced next week as a new cast member on ‘The View.’
Barbara Walters said today that she would reveal the new cast member on Monday.
According to a source close to the show (who shall remain nameless), that will be none other than Miss Shepherd.
This news should come as no surprise. She has been a guest host more than a dozen times since Star Jones Reynolds left last summer.

You heard it right!
We were all expecting two new ‘The View’ co-hosts to be announced today.
In Touch Weekly reports that Sherri Shepherd was to be the second co-host announced today with Whoopi Goldberg, but salary negotiations broke down.
Former CNN anchor Jacque Reid (a.k.a. John Legend’s current gal pal) may be on deck now.
In other words, there’s hope for ‘The View’ yet!

‘The View’ is expected to announce its new cohost by August 2, a timetable confirmed by both NYC tabs this morning.
While the New York Daily News calls Whoopi Goldberg a shoo-in to join the talker, Page Six posits that a triad of Whoopi, Kathy Griffin and Sherri Shepherd might rotate in and out of the pair of chairs vacated by Star Jones and Rosie O’Donnell.
Team Sherri! Let’s face it — Whoopi is irrelevant and only gay men like Kathy.
