Say awkwaaaaaaaard!!!!!

Check out the first snap of the newly regrouped set of judges from American Idol!

Looking cheery as only a publicist from FOX can demand, Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson were all smiles as they attended auditions for for the eighth season of the former hit show at Chelsea Piers in New York City today.

In a tongue in cheek remark, Simon said he welcomed catfights between Kara and a turf defending Paula. “I love catfights,” he told OK!. “I encourage them. It’s no fun if everyone gets along.”

“I wouldn’t have recognized Kara by the way Paula described her,” Simon deadpanned. “I was expecting someone maybe 50 years old, about 180 lbs., maybe a bit of gray hair.”

Meanwhile, Kara, a multi-Grammy nominated songwriter in her own right, sounds pretty sure of herself and insists she’s ready for her new job. “I’m a little nervous,” she said. But when asked to describe herself, she used the word “feisty.” As for Paula? Posed the same question, she said: “Gaaahh…mmmmm….blech…”

The stars and Ashley Tisdale stepped out tonight to attend the 2008 ALMA Awards in Pasadena, CA.

Gaining more A-list calibur by the year, big names like host Eva Longoria, Jessica Alba, Paula Abdul, America Ferrera and even Disney darling Senela Gomez were on hand to lend some star power to the ceremony.

Eva is not just the host of the awards, but also the executive producer of the event which celebrates the outstanding artistic achievements of Latinos in motion pictures, TV and music.

Of the star-studded affair, fashion guru Steve Cojocaru tells Variety: “For the Almas this year, the word is sex. And it’s absolutely glamorous. The Latin stars really know how to dress up. They’re not afraid of their sexuality. And they’ve got the perfect host in Eva. That’s glamour.”

Paula Abdul’s latest relationship has gone sour.

Her “sweetie pie,” restauranteur J.T. Torregiani has moved out of American Idol’s L.A. home.

Her rep confirmed the two-month-old split.

PAULA REMAINS COY AT KOI

Paula Abdul was seen leaving Koi last night surrounded by her entourage.

The petite talent judge seemed to be in good spirits despite allegations, once again, of her being under the influence of something at the April 29th filming of American Idol. Paula has said numerous times that she has never been drunk nor taken any illegal drugs. The only problem with that is that their are plenty of legal drugs that can cause the same effects!

However, last night Paula seemed quite lucid as she held a white rose and signed autographs once she was inside her SUV.

Keep up the good work, Miss Abdul.

Paula Abdul’s new music video was supposed to have its world premiere tonight on Fox, but Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow has already shown up on the Web.

In a press conference early this morning, the American Idol judge dished on her latest career development and a whole lot more!

Paula on her comeback : “It’s good to be back in the game. It’s a very poignant and special time. It’s been awhile since I’ve been out there doing it.”

Paula on why she was out of the game for over a decade: “I’ve been through 14 surgeries and that kept me out of the loop for some time. I was pretty much told I would never dance again.”

Paula on performing again: “That’s my happy place. I didn’t realize how much I missed physically being out there and doing that.”

Paula on having Simon Cowell appear in the video: “He said, ‘I don’t do this for my own artists.’ And I said, ‘They probably don’t want you in their videos.’”

Paula on touring: “I’ve definitely been taking meetings. I’m very particular, though, about how I want to approach touring. I have a real focused idea. I want it to be something different. It’ll be a whole different trend of touring.”

Paula on who will win American Idol this year: “I have no idea. This is the first time that none of us can say definitely going to be this person…. There are definitely standouts. You can’t deny David Archuleta, Jason Castro and Michael Johns and Alaina and Sayesha and Ramiele and Carly… I could go on and on. It’s, for me, it’s like ‘Oh my god, who’s going to go home?’ You’ve got contenders of both genders. Oh god, that just rhymed.”

Meanwhile, lots of nice comments posted at People about Paula’s new video….believe it or not.

Check out Paula Abdul’s new music video for Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow.

We want to hate it (we really do!), but the high production value combined with the fact that is Paula is twice the age of her fellow pop music counterparts makes us just love it.

WAS PAULA ON THE SAUCE?

Check out Paula Abdul’s insane bout of hiccuping in the middle of American Idol last night.

And what about Simon Cowell saying: “you disgusting little pig,” to her as he threw his paper down??

To no surprise, that moment is now garnering headlines like: “Drunk Paula is back!” and “Loopy Paula Abdul returns.”

Meanwhile, the 90s popstar-turned-talent judge is reportedly “too nervous” to perform her new single Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow live at the Super Bowl, so she taped her performance before a studio audience.

Sounds like Paula is playing it safe, but no amount of post-production tweaking can parlay her into an act worth watching.

Paula Abdul is without a doubt the hardest working woman in Hollywood.

In addition to her annual American Idol duties, the pint-sized singer-dancer has set her sights on the Super Bowl halftime stage. As in she’s actually going to perform!

Of course, Fox wouldn’t be relying solely on Paula to entertain the billion-plus audience — Tom Petty will headline the show.

Stay tuned on February 3 to see Miss Abdul make her astroturf comeback!
