Oprah taped her special Olympic show today with 150 athletes as guests.
The studio is reportedly covered in red, white and blue confetti and Oprah herself rocked a “patriotic” outfit.
Another spoiler tidbit: “Nastia [Liukin] admits to reading The Secret.” (Guess it really does work!)
Meanwhile, in rare sighting, Lady O was recently seen with her alleged longtime lover Stedman Graham at the 20th Reunion Festival in Whitesboro, New Jersey.
Stedman is a Whitesboro native and the annual reunion was founded by a group of residents who grew up in the historically black community and attended Middle Township High School. Oprah was the keynote speaker and pledged $1 million in scholarship money to the community.
Oprah’s Olympic show special is set to air on Monday to open the new season of The Oprah Winfrey Show.

So, how did he do?
First word on Barack Obama’s historic nomination acceptance speech from a bevy of celebrities in attendance was decidedly partisan.
Here are a few highlights:
Fergie: “It was excellent. It was amazing.”
Jessica Alba: “Incredible.”
Daniel Dae Kim of Lost: “What I hope happens is the country doesn’t forget the jubilation and excitement that’s been generated here. And I hope it turns into something that changes the world.”
Oprah: “I cried my eyelashes off. I think it’s the most powerful thing I have ever experienced. He’s not an African-American candidate. He’s a candidate for Americans.”

Look for
Oprah to be at the Democratic National Convention in Denver on August 28.
Gayle King says that the talk show host will be front and centre for Barack Obama’s acceptance speech. But she has no plans to take the stage.
Everyone’s favourite BFF tells ET, “Oprah has not been asked to introduce him, is not expecting to be asked to introduce him and I would doubt that she would want to introduce him. She thinks this is HIS moment. I know that she is planning to be there.”
And so is Gayle.

The impact that Oprah has had on Barack Obama’s campaign has been heavily debated. But two professors from the University of Maryland claim they have calculated it out to the exact number.
Using a complex numerical formula, economists Craig Garthwaite and Tim Moore, say that Oprah’s star power — based on book sales, TV ratings, voter turnout and other factors — has put 1 015 519 votes in the Obama column. That’s how many votes her endorsement brought Obama in the primaries.
In other words, Hillary Clinton can blame Oprah for losing the race by a nose.
And now we wait with baited breath for the general election….

Surprise, surprise: it’s Oprah Winfrey. She makes a mind-numbing $385 million a year.
TV Guide’s anuual star salary survey also named Simon Cowell ($50 million) and David Letterman ($32 million).
Charlie Sheen, of Two and a Half Men fame, is the highest-paid comedy actor ($825 000 per episode) and CSI star William Peterson rakes in $600 000 an episode, although he’s leaving the show this season.
As for the ladies? Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay is the highest-paid actress in a drama raking an a respectable $400 000 an episode while Kyra Sedgwick takes home $275 000 a pop for her hit cable show, The Closer.

Virginia “Tiny” Makopo appeared at Sebokeng court today as her trial got underway today in Johannesburg.
The former dormitory matron at Oprah Winfrey’s school in South Africa is pleading “not guilty” to 14 charges including indecent assault and soliciting underage girls to perform indecent acts. She pleaded not guilty to 14 charges of indecent assault, common assault, verbal abuse, soliciting a minor to perform indecent acts and criminal injury
The trial — during which the girls are expected to provide accounts of the abuse — is expected to run through Friday.
No sign of Oprah in court….so far.

Looks like Oprah is enjoying some R&R in Italy after attending Nelson Mandela’s big bash in London.
The talk show diva is living (and eating!) it up in Portofino. Stepping out in a figure-hugging white top and flowing skirt, Oprah’s fuller frame was on show for all to see.
Joining Lady O on her Mediterranean getaway? None other than her gal pal Gayle King.

With just two days to go until Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday celebration concert, the stars stepped out to fete the former South African president during a fundraising dinner at London’s Hyde Park on Wednesday.
And, of course, no event having to do with Africa would be complete without its reigning queen, Oprah Winfrey.
She tells the Press Association: “What is so special is that you spend 27 years in prison, you come out and you do the thing that everyone thought was impossible to do, become president of the nation and change the way people feel about Africa, and then you get to live to celebrate 90. I just don’t know anybody who deserves this more or anybody who we should be gathered around literally at his feet to say thank you for all that he has given the world.”
Blending good will with a little shameless self-promotion, Hancock star Will Smith was in attendance with wife Jada Pinkett Smith. (Hancock opens nationwide on July 2.)
Looking pretty in pink, Leona Lewis was on hand to add a little star power….and to pick up a check! The British songstress is reportedly being paid over $2 million for personal appearances at parties.
Pussycat Doll frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger showed up looking like she was ready for a Pussycat Doll funeral. It’s a celebration, honey. Try a little colour.
The always stunning Uma Thurman was joined by a dark-haired mystery man. Yet another new romance for the often-in-love actress?
And finally, Kim Cattrall injected some much need sex into the city of London.

She completed her 21-day stint as a vegan over the weekend, and her biggest craving? A glass of wine.
She blogged about the experience and said she will “forever be a more cautious and conscious eater.”

Oprah Winfrey impart to Stanford University students yesterday in her commencement speech?
Here are a few highlights:
- “The secret I’ve learned to getting ahead is being open to the lessons.”
- “Money is pretty nice. I like money. It’s good for buying things. But having a lot of money does not automatically make one a successful person. What you want is money and meaning - you want your work to be meaningful, because meaning is what brings the real richness to your life.”
- “Every wrong decision was the result of me not listening to my voice. If it doesn’t feel right, don’t do it.”
- One student said the speech was “extremely inspirational.”
