More bad news for Morgan Freeman: The Oscar-winning actor is getting a divorce.
Freeman and his wife of 24-years, costumer Myrna Colley-Lee, “are involved in a divorce action,” the actor’s Mississippi-based attorney and business partner Bill Luckett tells Access Hollywood. “And for legal and practical purposes, [Freeman and Colley-Lee] have been separated since December of 2007.”
As you may recall, Mr. Freeman was in a car accident over the weekend and his female passenger, identified as Demaris Meyer, has been described as a friend.

Morgan Freeman is “doing well” after surgery at a Memphis hosptial last night following his Sunday car crash.
“Morgan is doing well after his surgery last night to reconnect nerves and repair damage in his left arm and hand,” his spokesperson, Donna Lee, said in a statement today. “The surgery last night lasted four and a half hours. He’s visiting with family this morning.”
She added that Freeman is “up and walking around and looking forward to his release in a few days.”

Worrisome news to report: Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman has been injured in a serious car accident in Mississippi.
Cops tell us the “Dark Knight” star was in a one car accident around 11:30 PM last night north of Ruleville, Miss. He was airlifted from the accident scene to a hospital in Memphis, Tenn. We’re told alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the wreck.
Freeman’s condition is unknown, but state troopers tell us he was talking at the scene before he was taken to the hospital. The condition of an unidentified female passenger in the car is also unknown.

UPDATE: “All I can say is one word: His condition is serious,” says Kathy Stringer, the hospital rep. She had no information on a possible other passenger from the vehicle.
UPDATE: Freeman’s was reportedly airlifted from the accident scene to the Regional Medical Center after his car went off the highway and “flipped over many times.” According his publicist, Morgan has suffered a broken shoulder and arm and appears to be in a bit of pain.

The red carpet at last night’s 8th Annual Laureus Awards in Barcelona looked more like a ceremony honouring celebs than it did sports stars.
Among the invited guests at the big event, which took place at the uber ritzy Palau Sant Jordi, included Eva Longoria, Elisha Cuthbert, supermodels Nieves Alvarez, Valeria Mazza and Laura Sanchez, celebrated Spanish flamenco dancer Joaquin Cortes and Oscar-winners Morgan Freeman and Cuba Gooding Jr.
The Laureus World Sports Awards, which was broadcasted to 190 countries and territories, is the premier global sports awards honouring the greatest sports stars across all sports each year.
