Too little, too late?
Hanging their heads in shame, mom-and-daughter duo Lynne and Jamie Lynn Spears creep out of a parenting class in Kentwood, LA on Sunday afternoon following a 1-hour session.
Better to get it done before it’s court-appointed, right?
In addition to her growing baby bump tucked away underneath her oversized hoodie, sixteen-year-old Jamie Lynn was proudly toting a GED preparation book.
If you listen carefully, you can actually hear producers for the Maury Povich Show dialing the phone.

It’s another day, another drama for the Spears family.
The latest? Resident black sheep Britney may soon be on her way to jail if she misses one more court-ordered deposition.
“She could go to jail for contempt of court if she refuses to show,” one legal eagle confirms to OK!. “That would be extreme for a child custody hearing, but not outside the realm of possibility.” More likely, explains the courtroom insider, K-Fed’s team could ask the court to impose monetary sanctions on Britney, who is already footing the bill for Kevin’s legal expenses!
If Brit’s 6 previously missed scheduled attempts at being deposed are any indication, the guards at Lynwood Correcttional Facility better prepare for their latest celebrity inmate du jour.
Meanwhile, things aren’t looking too good for Brit’s mom Lynne either. Us Weekly is going to town on the 52-year-old stage mom for the family’s recent troubles.
Alexa Nikolas, 3-month-pregnant Jamie’s Zoey 101 costar, says: “Jamie wanted something different for her life, and her mom put her in situations she didn’t want to be.”
Adds a Spears family insider: “Lynne “treats her girls like a piggy bank. Lynne got all her money through those girls and loved it when it started rolling in.”
Proof of just what a scumbagstress she reallly is? Lynne avoided telling Britney the shocking news that her little sister was knocked up because she “didn’t want her to screw up the deal” she struck with OK! magaine.
A deal which will reportedly reel her in a cool $1 million.

Looks like Lynne Spears’ parenting book isn’t off after all!
Just don’t consider it a parenting book. “It is her memoir,” a rep for publisher Thomas Nelson says.
There is no publication date, yet. In a statement, Michael Hyatt, president of Thomas Nelson says: “Lynne’s remarkable story will provide a window into the real-life world of fame and worldly success, including the terrible toll it extracts from those who aspire to it.”
In other words, it’s a handbook for stage mom on what not to do!

In the wake of Jamie Lynn Spears’ shocking pregnancy announcement, mama Lynne Spears’ book about raising her famous daughters has been put on hold. Shocking, we know.
“The book is delayed indefinitely. It’s delayed, not cancelled,” says a spokeswoman for Thomas Nelson, which publishes inspirational books and Bibles.
It had been scheduled for a spring 2008 release and was put on hold last week, says the rep. On Tuesday, news hit that 16-year-old Jamie Lynn is pregnant with her boyfriend’s child.
The publisher declined to comment on whether the focus of the book would change in light of the pregnancy announcement.
“We are standing behind Lynn at this time and understand that she needs time with her family - we support that,” says the spokeswoman.
With her grown daughter on the brink of losing her kids to an unemployed wannabe rapper and her other daughter knocked up before even completing high school, we’re sure Lynne’s book on good parenting will be a bestseller….regardless of when it drops.

FYB has more from Lynne Spears’ shocking new interview with Life & Style where the stage mom finally takes responsibility for her daughter’s troubles.
“I wish I’d been there more while she was touring,” says Lynne. “But I couldn’t be. I had the other kids to look after.”
When asked about the messy custody battle between her daugther Britney and her estranged ex-hubby Kevin Federline, she said: “Here are two parents who care about their kids. They’re good people. With my daughter’s, Kevin’s and the boys’ interest at heart, I’m trying my best to bring them together, to bridge the gap. I think things are getting good.”
Lynne adds, “Britney loves her kids from the pit of her soul.”
If so, she sure has a funny way of showing it!

Britney Spears’ mother, Lynne, has finally taken ownership of her train wreck of a daughter.
“For everything that’s gone wrong for Britney, I blame myself,” Momma Spears tells Life & Style’s latest issue. “I didn’t raise my children to have Hollywood careers. This all just exploded in my face, and big dreams became big headaches.”
As for the pair’s relationship, it’s on the mend. “We’ve reunited,” Lynne says. “We’re friends.”
It’s all about baby steps. Keep workin’ at it!

The author who has been working with Britney Spears’ mom, Lynne, on ‘Pop Culture Mom: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World,’ says the book isn’t a tell-all, but rather a mother’s view of a child thrust into the spotlight.
Lorilee Craker tells her local paper, The Grand Rapid Press: “Lynne, first of all, is a wonderful person. She is one of the kindest, most decent people, and very down-to-earth. People would be amazed at how normal she is, but she’s living in this sort of surreal life at the same time.”
She adds: “One thing I do want to make clear is that she’s not a stage mom. People are so accusatory toward her and so judgmental of her, and it just drives me crazy because I know the real her.”
Our thoughts? Is this just some much needed damage control or merely a true character witness stepping forward? You decide!

Lynne Spears is reportedly getting ready to publish an autobiography, giving her “personal story” of raising daughters Britney and Jamie Lynn from little Louisiana girls to big time celebs.
No word yet on whether she will touch upon Britney’s breakdown and subsquent comeback.
The book will be published by Thomas Nelson, Christian publishers, by Spring time.
Perfect timing — we will have probably just finished reading Rosie O’Donnell’s rant-filled prose by then.

Considering the fact that custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James is currently a battle between two drug-using unfit parents (Kevin Federline and Britney Spears), could a whole new parental figure (in the form of Lynne Spears) be entering the pictrure?
Lawyers for K-Fed and Britney are in the hallway outside the courtroom right now, discussing whether Lynne Spears, Britney’s mother, can be appointed by the court as a monitor — and spend the night with Brit and her children.
We’re told Brit has trust issues, and now that she has reconciled with mommy, she wants Lynne to be the one to stay overnight when her sons visit. We hear K-Fed’s attorneys are opposed to this.
Way to go, Brit!
Girlfriend is manipulating the court by using her once estranged mother to do it. And considering the fact that Britney was too lazy to even show up at the ermergency custody hearing today, she sure has some balls.
The woman is ruthless!
