Taking a break from their daily parental duties, Nicole Richie and babydaddy Joel Madden enjoy an afternoon of shopping at Barney’s in Beverly Hills on Monday.
Sadly this means that everyone’s favourite pint-sized fashionplate (ok, fine, second to Mary-Kate Olsen) will not be attending Tonight’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala in New York City. The fashion fiesta is co-chaired by George Clooney, Anna Wintour, Julia Roberts and Giorgo Armani.
The theme? Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy!!!

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden opted to stay home and take care of the kid during the big Grammy show last night, but come baby’s bedtime, it was time to party!
The new parents were all smiles as they hit up Entertainment Weekly’s Toast to LA Reid at STK-LA in West Holllywood on Sunday night.
Meanwhile, in baby news, Nicole says one-month-old Harlow is “doing great,” but only sleeps three hours at a time.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are the parents of a brand spankin’ new daughter!!!
Harlow Winter Kate Madden was born Friday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and weighed 6 lbs. 7 oz.
“The beautiful healthy baby girl left the hospital with her ecstatic parents,” says the rep, who confirmed the birth to PEOPLE exclusively.
Congratulations!! We’re absolutely loving the name!!

Dad-to-be Joel Madden brother Josh revealed to Us Weekly last night that Joel and Nicole Richie are expecting their baby any day now!
“I think it’s sometime in the next week, that’s all we know,” he told reporters Wednesday night. “We don’t know what it is, we don’t know any names.”
As for this thoughts on what kind of dad Joel will be? “He’s always had kids at heart. He kind of modeled his life like a role model and I’d say if he was having a kid or not that everything he’s done from the start is just going to be continued on.”
Meanwhile, as the delivery date nears, Nicole is reportedly seeking the help of a hypnotist to help alleviate fears of pain.

Joined by her younger siblings, mum-to-be Nicole Richie and babydaddy Joel Madden are all smiles as they greet children at the Richie Madden Children’s Foundation Holiday Party in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The expectant couple helped give away new pairs of Stride-Rite shoes and Cloud B Cuddle Cub teddy bears to children from Beyond Shelter, a program helping families combat homelessness and poverty.
This event marks a huge change in La Richie’s life, who around time last year was arrested after she failed a field sobriety test when coppers nabbed her entering a Malibu freeway on the exit ramp and traveling in the wrong direction. She later admitted to using marijuana and Vicodin before the incident.
What a difference a year makes!

In a new interview with The Daily 10 on E! tonight, Joel Madden talks about fatherhood.
Joel on which celeb dads he looks up to: “Brad Pitt, he looks like a really good father. Ryan Philippe, I’ve always seen pictures of them with their kids. Patrick Dempsey. Colin Farrell looks like a really good dad.”
Joel on future babysitters: “Maybe Paris [Hilton]. She could be like the crazy aunt. She’d be a good babysitter.”
Lord, bless this child before it’s too late!!

Yesterday it was reported that parents-to-be Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are hosting a baby shower this Sunday.
Now Us Weekly says that the couple has asked their friends and family to bring cribs, strollers and stuffed animals to the party — but not for their bundle of joy but rather as a donation to the Richie Madden Children’s Foundation, the charity they created to help mothers in need.
Next month the charity will also donate dozens of Mom-to-Be kits to the Los Angeles Free Clinic.
First Britney Spears auctions off an autographed copy of her new CD for UNICEF and now this? Could charity be the new panty flash? Let’s hope so!

A story earlier today had Nicole Richie puffing away on cigarettes on more than one occasion over the past week in New York City.
Juicy story, but there’s only one problem — the mum-to-be wasn’t even in the country!
Richie’s rep tells Extra that accounts of Richie smoking are “irresponsible and untrue.” And while columnist Cindy Adams claims Richie lit up outside New York restaurants DaSilvano and Nobu (with fiance and father-to-be Joel Madden, even), Richie and Madden are reportedly abroad and nowhere near New York.
Umm…duh!!! Did anyone even believe that story for a second?!? Old bag Cindy Adams is from the ‘Geraldo’ days. Her only source these days is her gerontologist!

During a recent trip Down Under where Joel Madden was touring with his band, the Good Charlotte frontman took time out of his busy schedule to join his babymama Nicole Richie for a photo-shoot in the current issue of Australia Ok! magazine.
Aussieland holds a special place in the couples’ heart as it’s most likely the country where their baby was conceived. Says Joel: “When you think about what goes into conceiving a baby, that’s a pretty personal question. Only a scientist can tell…but there is a very good possibility that it was [conceived in Australia]!”
Nicole on pregnancy: “I’m in a really good place. I really couldn’t be happier.”
Joel on a potential wedding: “I am in love with her. I want to get married. I’m excited. This is the best thing that’s ever happened to us.”
