WAS THIS REALLY WORTH $10 MILLION?

FYB recently reported that Microsoft paid $10 million to Jerry Seinfeld to make new, hip ads.

The first aired last night during the NFL game between the Redskins and the Giants.

SEINFELD TRIES TO SLIME HIS WAY OUT OF LAWSUIT

Missy Chase does not find Jerry Seinfeld very funnny.

The cookbook author has filed a slander suit against the disgraced comedian, soon after filing one against his wife Jessica claiming she stole her Deceptively Delicious cookbook ideas. Lapine objected to the fact that Jerry called her a “wacko” and “mentally unhinged celebrity stalker” (among other things!) on David Letterman’s show after the incident first blew up.

So, what does Jerry have to say for himself? In legal papers filed yesterday in Manhattan federal court, he says that he didn’t slander Lapine. He cites several episodes of Seinfeld in which he mocked frivolous lawsuits — including an episode where Kramer wins free coffee for life in a court settlement because he got burned on gourmet roast — and argues that he was just mining the situation for laughs.

He’s hoping to get the lawsuit thrown out.

Isn’t it funny how being a crook and a slanderer quickly makes a former comic…not even funny? If Jerry wants to use his 1st Amendment rights, he should stand up, apologize to the woman and then admit his wife did steal the woman’s ideas. Some word for word.

FROM COMEDIAN TO PITCHMAN

While his wife Jessica is busy plagiarizing cook books, Jerry Seinfeld has signed up to be one of the key celebrity pitchmen in Microsoft Corp’s $300 million advertising campaign aimed at changing its image.

Debuting on September 4, the overhaul comes in the wake of Apple’s “Mac vs. PC” ads, which feature a nerdy PC guy getting upstaged by a hip Mac counterpart.

The cost of getting Seinfeld to appear in the ads with Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates? A cool $10 million. Because, you know, he’s so hard up for the cash.

Jerry Seinfeld says he was just kidding when he called Sneaky Chef author Missy Chase Lapine a “wacko” for claiming his wife plagiarized her book.

As you may recall, Jerry was on The Late Show with David Letterman, when he said, “Wackos will wait in the woodwork to pop out at certain moments of your life to inject a little adrenaline into your life experience.”

But now, Mr. Seinfeld is singing a different tune….

In court papers asking a judge to toss out the suit against Seinfeld and his wife, Jessica, the funnyman says he was just doing his shtick last October when he trashed the “vegetable plagiarism” suit Lapine lobbed at his wife.

Keep on backpeddling, Jerry.

And P.S. We never believed for a second that your talentless, money-grubbing wife actually cooked for her own kids!

Tom Cruise brings baby Suri to visit Jerry Seinfeld at his five car Porsche garage in New York City on Wednesday.

The 53-year-old funnyman’s garage is easily Gotham’s swankiest car park. The floors are white terrazzo. The walls are covered with epoxy resin panels. Cabinetry, steel shelving, and the industrial elevator are all custom made. Touch-screen panels on the wall control everything in the space. Then there’s Jerry’s “little bachelor pad upstairs,” as the worker described it. The 844-square-foot space has a kitchen, bathroom, large plasma screen TV, and a pool table.

We’re sure little Suri was absolutely thrilled.

Looks like Renee Zellweger has been sucking on one too many sour lemons.

Showing off her new uncomfortably short ‘do, the Oscar-winning actress was looking typically whacktastic as she joined her ‘Bee Movie’ costars Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld and Matthew Broderick for the film’s star-studded premiere in New York City on Thursday.

The film opens on November 2. We’re hoping Renee’s eyes will do the same.

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s Jerry Seinfeld in a ridiculous bee costume.

The Cannes Film Festival always gets its fair share of buzz, but the 52-year-old funnyman cranked up the volume yesterday by suiting up in his ‘Bee Movie’ suit and flying on to the carpet.
