Lady of the night Jennifer Garner goes strapless to The Glamour Magazine 2007 Women of The Year Awards at Lincoln Center in New York, City on Monday.

The thirty-five year old actress has been named the magazine’s Woman of the Year after editors agreed she the person who best presents an example of a woman with a ‘successful career and happy family life while remaining stylish and elegant’.

Other well-deserving honourees included Nobel-prize winning novelist Toni Morrison and golfer Lorena Ochoa.

Among the Hollywood heavyweights stood little Abigail Breslin who was all smiles at the star-studded event. The 11-year-old Oscar-nominated actress had reason to be so darn happy — she was named as the first ever Girl of the Year!

In the mag, her hunk ‘Reservation Road’ costar Joaquin Phoenix says of the 36-year-old actress: “She’s incredibly intelligent. She talks about things I’ve never heard of. There is never a false or contrived moment. I don’t know how she does it.”

Jennifer on her low-key lifestyle: “I can’t say it’s calculated. It’s sort of what it is. I live in Brooklyn. I have a pretty low-key lifestyle. Nothing too scandalous. No arrests. No sex tapes. No drug habit.”

Jennifer on her tendency to choose dark characters: “I think that has sharpened people’s perception of me. But I don’t think that’s necessarily a reflection of how I live my life. I don’t think I’m particularly a sad person. I don’t feel bereft or depressed. I don’t think of myself as chilly. These are just parts that I find interesting.”

Amid the sea of dolled up blondes gracing magazine covers from isle to isle, Jennifer Connelly stands out in November’s Vogue, on newsstands this week.

The Oscar-winning actress, who was a child actor, tells the mag that becoming a mother brought her out of her shell. She is married to actor Paul Bettany and has two sons, Kai, 10, and Stellan, 4. “I am shy,” she says. “So I was really forced to kind of move out into the world and learn how to get the things I had secretly always wanted.”

Her suspense drama, ‘Reservation Road’, co-starring Joaquin Phoenix, opens in theaters Friday.

Paul Bettany visits wife Jennifer Connelly while she films scenes at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA on Wednesday for the upcoming flick ‘He’s Just Not That Into You.’

While the 36-year-old actress had to rush off to shoot scenes throughout the day, doting Paul kept a careful eye on their four-year-old son Stellan.

And if you look closely, it appears young Stellan has inherited his mother’s gorgeous green eyes.
