Janet Jackson has been released from Montreal’s Royal Victoria Hospital following a two-hour stay last night.
Still no word on the nature of JJ’s sudden illness, but we’re sure it had nothing to do with her years of yo-yo dieting.

According to a press release, the singer canceled her concert in Montreal last night after she “got suddenly ill” during her sound check and had to be rushed to the hospital just before show time.
Aside from mentioning that Miss Jackson is being monitored at the hospital and hopes to reschedule the show, no other details were given.
How mysterious….

Jermaine Dupri had a lot of fun on his 36th brithday. Perhaps a little too much fun.
The music mogul reportedly got so loaded celebrating during a party at Tenjune in New York City that
he did the technicolor yawn in girlfriend Janet Jackson’s lap.
Nothing says love like a lapful of vomit!

While it’s normally Janet Jackson who takes front and centre, it was beau Jermaine Dupri’s time to shine last night as the music mogul celebrated his 36th birthday party at Tenjune in New York City last night.
Days after it was announced that Janet left Island/DefJam after one failed album, the pop superstar appeared in good spirits depsite having an uncertain future.
So what’s next for JJ? Rumours are swirling that she wants to take a break and have a baby, but it’s Janet’s money-making that helps keep the Jackson family running. No work, no money for Papa Joe Jackson.

Janet Jackson is one stop closer to joining the unemployment line.
The pop legend has severed ties with Def Jam Records after releasing just one album on the label.
Producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins made the announcement of Janet’s exit from Def Jam in a video blog today.
According to Jerkins, Janet had been feuding with the label and wasn’t happy with the promotion of her latest album, Discipline.
“We didn’t get the support from the record company,” he said. “[Janet] felt like it wasn’t pushed. I felt like it wasn’t pushed correctly. She just didn’t get her just-do as an artist of that magnitude.”
Janet signed to Island Def Jam in 2007 and released Discipline in February 2008.

To no one’s surpirse, Michael Jackson ditched his entire family last night and bailed on a dinner honouring him and all of them in Los Angeles.
The dinner was hosted by Broadcast Music Inc. honouring the Jackson 5 and Janet Jackson. The organizers hoped the dinner would draw out reclusive, absentee Michael, who turned 50 last week.
So, where was MJ? “I don’t know,” Marlon Jackson told the AP before the show. “I think he’s in Egypt riding a camel or something.”
To be fair, older brother Jermaine was also a no-show, but no one seemed to care about his whereabouts.
Last night’s bash once and for all quelled the rumours that the Moonwalker will reunite or tour with his brothers.

Stylish couple Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri hit the Jean Paul Gaultier ‘09 Fall Winter Haute Couture fashion show in Paris today as part of Fashion Week.
Miss Jackson (if you’re nasty) is currently taking in the sights and sounds of Paris Fahion Week in hopes of gathering some inspiration for her own lingerie line as well as her upcoming world tour.
But first, she will tape a yet-to-be-titled MTV reality show where she will mentor a group of aspiring singers and dancers.
Looks like little Miss Wardrobe Malfunction has turned into quite a busy businesswoman right before our eyes!

The stars stepped out in Paris today to watch British designer John Galliano deliver an ode to Vogue magazine during the kickoff Christian Dior show of Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.
A-list guests including Liv Tyler, Janet Jackson and a very glamorous Eva Mendes gathered at the Rodin sculpture museum for the display, which launched three days of autumn-winter couture shows.
The Dior extravaganza was all about cinch-waisted jackets with extravagant folds at the waist. While skirts were translucent, evening gowns came in cascades of icy tulle sparkling with silver sequins.
Following the show, Janet said that she was busy preparing for the launch of her own line of lingerie later this year. “They’re classic,” she tells the AP. “There are some things that have a vintage feel to them.”
If Miss Jackson knows what’s best for her, she should get a quick tutorial from Galliano, who has the vintage look down pat.

Cartier held a glitzy launch event for their LOVE Charity Bracelet at a private residence in Los Angeles last night.
Among the celeb attendees were Janet Jackson and Nicole Richie. While Miss Janet accessorized her basic black ensemble with a newly sewed weave, mom-about-town Richie stayed true to her curtain couture look, donning an ill-fitting floral halter dress….yet again.
Since the Cartier LOVE bracelet was introduced more than 30 years ago, it has become one of the most coveted jewelry designs in the world and the ultimate symbol of love. Over the past two years, Cartier donated more than $2.24 million to sixteen global charities from the sales of its LOVECHARITY bracelet. The company aims to exceed last year’s donations as a number of new music ambassadors join the endeavor.
