Hugh Jackman aren’t just co-stars — they’re friends!
Enjoying a break from their whirldwind promotional tour, the Australia actors stepped out last night with their respective S.O.’s for a double-date in Paris.
The big screen duo are expected to hit the red carpet tonight at the premiere of their Baz Luhrmann-directed World War II-era romance in Madrid, Spain.
Australia is already in movie theatres in North America. It opened at a disappointing No. 5 with $14.8 million for the weekend and $20 million since debuting Wednesday.

The city of Paris got a whole lot sexier today as People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive Hugh Jackman hit the town with wife Deborra-Lee Furness and their adorable daughter Ava for an afternoon of shopping.
The 40-year-old actor is in the City of Light for the upcoming French premiere of his Baz Luhrmann-directed epic flick, Australia.
Meanwhile, Hugh is reportedly on the brink of signing on to star as magician Harry Houdini in a Broadway musical.
The multi-faceted actor is certainly no stranger to the stage. He won a 2004 Tony Award for his Broadway portrayal of Aussie songwriter and performer Peter Allen in The Boy from Oz.

It was glamour overboard as
Nicole Kidman and
Hugh Jackman hit the red carpet only moments ago for the American premiere of
Australia at the famed Ziegfeld Theater in New York City.
While Nicole sparkled in a gold and black Dries Van Noten number, her Sexiest Man Alive co-star was typically debonaire in a dark chocolate coloured suit.
The Baz Luhrmann-directed epic is the Aussie filmmakers’s first film since he dazzled audiences with Moulin Rouge seven years ago. With a price tag of $130 million, critics are wonder whether the film can live up to its hype.
Early reviews have been mixed but generally warm for the movie. While some critics say it might be an Oscar contender, other say it will sink at the box office à la 1995’s Waterworld.
Only time will tell when Australia opens nationwide on Wednesday.

So where is the Sexiest Man Alive today?

Looking low-key in a black fedora and matching sunglasses, hunky Hugh Jackman was seen landing at LAX International Airport early this morning following a long flight from Syndey, Australia. Joined by wife Deborra-Lee Furness and their adorable kids, 3-year-old Ava and 8-year-old Oscar, the 40-year-old human specimen kindly signed a few autographs before slipping away in his awaiting vehicle.
Mr. Jackman is in town for tomorrow night’s star-studded L.A. premiere of his epic flick, Australia.
Meanwhile, in the upcoming issue of People, Deborra-Lee describes Hugh as a romantic — he sings ballads at home and makes pancakes for the children. The couple got married when he was only 28, and 12 years, two children and 16 feature films later, Hugh still calls Deborra-Lee his “leading lady.”

Hugh Jackman was very amused when he heard that
People was naming him the “Sexiest Man Alive” 2008.
“Obviously Brad [Pitt] wasn’t available this year,” cracked Deborra. “That was a joke right?” he replied. Hugh joins 2005 sexy guy Matthew McConaughey, 2006’s George Clooney and last year’s Matt Damon.
Australia co-star Nicole Kidman says, “Women’s jaws drop when Hugh walks into a room.” But he’s really a family man who likes to make pancakes for son Oscar, 8, and daughter Ava, 3. “Deb and my kids have been the best things that have ever happened to me, without a doubt,” he says.
Some highlights from Hugh’s interview:
What’s your worst habit? “I’m a kicker in bed. My wife says every 17 seconds I kick. Also I tap things five times. I’m a little OCD.”
What do you wear to bed? “I didn’t wear anything until my daughter was born and we had a night nanny because I was working. I walked out stark naked, and she was reading a book. Now I like boxer briefs.”
What’s on your IPod? “Every type of music from the Police to Rufus Wainwright. Quite a lot of classical. When I work out, I play heavy metal.”

Hugh Jackman were the epitome of glam as they arrived for the
Australia photocall in Sydney, Australia Tuesday morning.
While a solo Nicole looked radiant (seriously, she’s literally glowing) in a chic strapless LWD, her hunky co-star Hugh kept it business casual going sans tie. He was joined by his partner (in business) John Palermo.
After months of rumour and speculation, director Baz Luhrmann will finally unveil his epic film at a star-studded world premiere tonight.
The city of Sydney has practically shut down for the event. Motorists have reportedly been told to expect major traffic delays as various major roads will be closed off for the premiere.
With a price tag of $130 million, Australia stakes claim to the title of the most expensive film ever made in Australia and producers are not pull any punches when it comes to generating hype.

Hunky Hugh Jackman was all smiles as he signed autographs outside of the Good Morning America studios in New York City on Tuesday after appearing on the show.
The 40-year-old actor is currently promoting his new Baz Luhrmann-directed epic flick, Australia.
During his chat with Diane Sawyer, movie star Hugh opened up about growing up dreaming about being a minister.
“My father is very religious so I was brought up in the chruch,” he says. “He was converted at a Billy Graham rally and he used to take me to these rallies. And I do very vividly remember that about age 13 watching somebody on stage doing a talk and thinking, ‘I have a very clear feeling that one day I was going to be up on that stage.’ And for about a year, I thought I was maybe going to be a minister. And then as I got older, I thought, ‘I think I just want to be up on that stage. Maybe not in that capacity but in some other capacity.”

After staying up late to take his kids out for Hallowe’en,

Ava to a walk through the Botanical Gardens in Sydney, Australia today.
After working up a sweat, the big screen hunk and his adorable tots headed to a public indoor pool for some post-hike R&R.
Meanwhile, these precious moments between father and children will soon come to an end (albeit temporarily) as Hugh begins what will surely be a worldwide promo campaign pimping the upcoming epic film Australia.
