Double Oscar-winner Hilary Swank among the celebrities accepting some pretty hefty checks on behalf of various nonprofit groups and charities at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s annual installation luncheon today in Beverly Hills.
The A-list fête presented over $1.2 million in grants to film schools and non-profit organizations and the celebrities were on hand to announce the grants as well as make acceptance remarks on behalf of the recipients.

Following in the footsteps of Britney Spears, actress/humanitarian Hilary Swank is set to cut all her hair off — but this time, it’s for a good cause.
The double Oscar-winner just announced a partnership with Pantene Beautiful Lengths, a campaign that inspires people to grow, cut and donate their healthy hair to make free real-hair wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment.
Hilary proudly showed off her long locks on Wednesday (above) as she shot a Pantene public service announcement - and at some point in the next year will get them sheared.

Looking lean and very mean, the vascular actress was spotted poolside at the hotel Regina in Rome today alongside her out-of-shape agent/boyfriend John Campisi.
The Oscar-winning actress is vacationing in historical Italy following her paid attendance at the New 7 Wonders of the World ceremony in Lisbon over the weekend.
Based on millions of online votes from over 200 countries, voters had the opportunity to choose a whole new set of world wonder that amaze the mind.
Among the list: The Taj Mahal, India and The Great Wall, China.
Topping the list? How Hilary managed to finagle herself two Oscars all before the age of 30.

After five months and $5 million, Escada opened a renovated 6,000-square-foot flagship in Beverly Hills last night, revealing a sleek new store concept that targets a younger, hipper customer while staying true to the brand’s classic aesthetics.
Over 600 guests from L.A.’s high society and the international fashion press attended the official opening party. The evening also showcased a performance by avant garde singer Sonia de Meglio who together with Parisian DJ Monsieur Velvet provided the entertainment.
Oscar princess Hilary Swank and Vogue diva-at-large Andre Leon Talley hosted the A-list even while celeb chef Wolfgang Puck pampered guests with exclusive delicacies and champagne.
All eyes, however, were on a radiant Naomi Watts. The mother-to-be, who is expecting her first child with boyfriend Liev Schreiber in June, looked simply ravishing in a strapless Escada gown and Neil Lane jewels.

Proving that Hollywood loves award shows of any kind, last night was the big BR!CK Awards ceremony, honouring young people who are making the world a better place. Hosted by LeAnn Rimes, the LA event included musical performances by Mandy Moore and Dashboard Confessional.
The celeb-filled event honoured 12 youngsters ranging in age from 11 to 25 who identified issues close to them and then took steps to do something about it. Award categories include public health, community building, education and environment.
Petra Nemcova and Lance Armstrong also received awards for their work with the Happy Hearts Fund and the Lance Armstrong Foundation, respectively.
Celebrity presenters and participants included Wyclef Jean, Jamie Lynn Sigler, Susan Sarandon, Hilary Swank and Jason Ritter.
The show will air nationwide on the CW Network tomorrow.

Hilary Swank looked nothing short of spectacular today as she attended the Barcelona premiere of ‘The Reaping’ in which she plays a former Christian missionary investigating a small Louisiana town that is suffering from what appear to be the Biblical plagues.
The double Oscar-winner shimmered in a strapless Elie Saab number as she made her way down the endless red carpet. During a press conference earlier in the day, Hilary shared with Spanish media how her many career accolades have not changed her trailer park-raised butt one bit. She believes celebrities should make a concerted effort to be “normal” like her, and shouldn’t let their fame get in the way of social interaction.
She said, “I love taking public transportation when I can and being with people because that’s what I do, that’s my job. When actors become famous, they become more solitary. But when you start losing touch with people, you lose touch with life.”
Correction: you’ve lost touch with life when you begin justify to the media just how normal you are.
