Proposition 8, the constitutional amendment outlawing same-sex marriage, was passed with approval by 52% of California voters.

It should come as no surprise that gay and straight celebrities are airing their disappointment.

George Clooney tells E!, “At some point in our lifetime, gay marriage won’t be an issue, and everyone who stood against this civil right will look as outdated as George Wallace standing on the school steps keeping James Hood from entering the University of Alabama because he was black.”

Touchée, gorgeous George!

The always debonaire George Clooney put his charm to good use tonight.

Following his week-long stay in Italy for the Venice Film Festival, the big screen hunk flew to Geneva to rub elbows with a crowd of high-rollers. After an eve of hobnobbing at a cocktail party held at a museum in Geneva’s Old Town, gorgeous George raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Barack Obama.

Dressed in a black suit and tie, Clooney signed autographs but did not comment as he squeezed past fans gathered in the narrow streets of Geneva.

So, how much exactly was raised? Some 170 contributors paid $1000 a head to hear him speak while another 75 spent $10 000 to attend “an intimate seated dinner” with the 47-year-old star at a nearby apartment.

After going casual earlier today during the film’s photocall, mega hunks Brad Pitt and George Clooney dressed to the nines as they attend the Opening Ceremony and Burn After Reading film premiere during the 65th Venice Film Festival held at the Sala Grande in Venice, Italy today.

Crowds went bananas as the handsome twomsome hit the red carpet together to promote their Coen brothers-directed tale about idiots — and what happens when their worlds collide.

Meanwhile, during a press conference earler in the day, Brad got all flustered as a Spanish TV journalist pushed her way to the front of the press conference dressed in red gym shorts similar to garb he wears as a gym trainer in the film. She asked him if he would help her work out.

“It’s a movie,” Brad reminded her.

“Would you run after me?” she asked.

George interjected with laughter: “I think we’re more likely to be running away from you!!!”

You know we can’t resist a Brad Pitt photo.

Last night, he and BFF George Clooney hit the Not On Our Watch benefit, held on Venice’s Giudecca island, to aid victims in the Darfur region of Sudan and the cyclone in Myanmar.

And here he is today at a photo call for new movie Burn After Reading, starring Tilda Swinton, Frances MacDormand, Brad and George.

On display at the photo call was some endearing buddyhood between the two good friends, with George often fielding questions asked to Brad, and vice versa.

First, a male reporter from Brazil asked: “I have a question, it’s very important. What do you think it’s (sic) better … to win an Oscar or to fall in love with a beautiful woman here in Venice?”

George quickly quipped: “Brad, don’t answer that!”

The a female reporter from a Hong Kong TV channel queried: “I want to know how the twins are doing. Are they looking more and more like you and Angie?”

“The twins are fine,” Clooney chipped in again.

Gorgeous George too got his share of personal questions. “Any plans to settle down and have children yourself,” asked a British journalist.

“I am so surprised to hear that question. That is honestly the first time I’ve been asked that question. I am getting married and having children today. Brad?” George deadpanned. “And until then I’ll be sharing mine with him. I’ll have two more by next year,” Brad quickly added.

No surprise here — with Angelina Jolie back in in the South of France with the rest of the couple’s brood, Brad Pitt opted to take BFF George Clooney as his date to the Not On Our Watch charity gala held at the Hotel Cipriani in Venice today.

Taking the term “bromance” to the next level, the Burn After Reading costars rocked similar black and white attire as they graciously worked the press line.

Brad, George and their pals have staged such top-ticket galas at a host of film festivals around the world; their one-year-old charity has raised more than $7 million to help victims of humanitarian crises and disasters.

George Clooney isn’t licking his wounds over his semi recent break-up with Sarah Larson. Hollywood’s most consummate bachelor is kickin’ it with the boys!

Joined by a couple of leather-clad mystery men, gorgeous George was spotted enjoying a ride on his Harley Davidson around Lake Como, Italy today. After burning some serious rubber, the men stopped at a gas station to gas up, cool off and ask for directions.

Interested in being one of Clooney’s bikin’ buddies? Well, now you can—but it’ll cost you a grand (plus airfare). As part of a big fundraiser he plans to host for Barack Obama in Geneva, Switzerland, you can fork over a mere $1000 t attend a reception and hear Clooney give a speech, presumably praising the presidential hopeful.

Want more? Ten thousand dollars gets you dinner with the Cloonster at the grand manse of Charles Adams, an international American attorney who has represented such clients as Euro Disney.

Fans are totally loving George Clooney as a mustachioed lothario in a new Martini commercial making the rounds today.

While we approve of the mustache, we perfer the beards that George rocks on his arm on a daily basis.
