Criss Angel was set to work with
Britney Spears for her big comeback act at the Video Music Awards. So, where did it all go wrong? In
this interview, he explains what he had been planning for her:
“I wanted to … literally transform her into birds and then for her to reappear in the audience. I also thought of having her levitate over the audience. It was going to be really visual moments that were all epic tableaux that were beautiful, artistic, elegant and, most important, unique — things MTV hasn’t seen in music.”
So, what happened?
“Britney is really strong with her own ideas. And what I had planned wasn’t an easy thing to do and would have required a lot of rehearsals. Ultimately, I told her I needed 100% commitment or I wasn’t going to be able to do this. I told her that, ‘You have to feel comfortable.’ So, we explored it and she decided it wasn’t for her, and I completely understand.”

Earlier this week, Pamela Anderson temporary split from Rick Salomon and now we know why!
The Canadian seductress was apparently “cozying up” to magician Criss Angel when the happy union came crashing down.
A source tells Page Six: “Rick hit the roof when he found out Pam was hanging out with Criss while he was off at a poker tournament. They had a huge fight, and she filed for divorce a few days later.”
The 40-year-old mother-of-two is now “working things out” with her new hubby and friends are sure they will save their relationship. Phew!
A friend of the Pammy’s says: “It was just another log on the fire. Their relationship is so volatile - I’m sure this won’t be the last time she files, but nothing happened with her and Criss - they were just hanging out. Pamela is very wary of jealous men, as Kid Rock had jealousy issues.”
She may very well be weary of jealous men, but there’s no doubt that Pam has a certain affinity for sleazy douchebags.

A makeup-free Britney Spears has her game face on as she’s lead by the hand by magician Criss Angel following a full day of rehearsals in Beverly Hills on Tuesday.
Britney is expected to perform two songs —‘Gimme More’ and ‘Cry’ — at MTV’s Video Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday. Dancer Ruben Dario recently revealed that her performance will include a mirror in which she will appear and disappear (which is why she has been working with the Sin City illusionist.)
Let’s hope this performance is exactly what Brit needs to stage an official comeback. In the past, she has used award performances to inject shock value (remember the Madonna tongue lock?), but I think she may avoid that this time. She’s older now and a mother. She should try to look a little wiser.

Criss Angel confirms to People magazine that he’s been working with Britney Spears this week on a performance for MTV’s Video Music Awards.
Furthermore, the magician states, there is nothing romantic about their late-night meetings this week. “We’re not together. Her manager is my manager, and I’m helping her with one of her shows. I’m helping with her appearance on MTV.”

So this is what the Britney Spears/Criss Angel date was all about earlier this week: X17 confirms the two will perform together at the VMAs September 9 in Vegas.
An X17 source told us Brit and Criss were meeting last night to work on their performance and to start going over the choreography plan with the dancers.
Sorry to disappoint, but this was strictly business, folks. Besides, Brit likes to keep the pleasure for the ladies!

Looks like notorious ladysman Criss Angel can add another notch to his bedpost.
The 39-year-old magic man was spotted escorting Britney Spears inside the Tower Beverly Hills Hotel last night, where the two reportedly held hands and made their way to a suite on the 11th floor.
While I still maintain that Angel is a total sleazeball, perhaps all it’ll take is some magic to turn things around for our girl Brit!

Well, well, well — guess who was spotted leaving PURE nightclub with recent rehab grad Lindsay Lohan?
None other than magican/lothario Criss Angel.
The happy new couple was spotted sneaking out of the Las Vegas hotspot hand-in-hand in the wee hours of the morning after a full night of partying.
Does La Lohan’s decision to hook up with a 40-year-old man who believes in magic prove she’s still not sober? Discuss.

Things are about to get a whole lot freakier for ‘Mindfreak’ Criss Angel.
Criss’ secret wife Joanne Saratankos, who he has been in a relationship with for 15 years, is filing for divorce saying their marriage ended when Criss started having an affair with none other than Cameron Diaz.
Page Six reports Joanne will subpoena Miss Diaz and have her testify about her relationship with Criss Angel in New York state Supreme Court on Long Island.
The scorned wife is claiming mental cruelty and abandonment. Her uber famous attorney Dominic Barbara says Criss (who changed his last name to Angel for magical effect) has kept his wife of five years a secret to increase his sex appeal among female fans.
Angel’s lawyer, Elliot Weiner, did not deny the adultery allegation.
No word on Cameron’s take on the whole situation.

Will he still be there tomorrow? Alive?
Illusionist Criss Angel began a 24-hour stunt today that will end with him trying to escape from a small cement box strung up above New York’s Times Square before it crashes to the ground.
He is suspended 12 feet above the ground and plans to escape tomorrow morning before the box is sent plunging to the ground.
