Charlize Theron strikes a fierce pose on the August cover of Elle UK magazine.
Inside the mag, the Hancock actress opens up about all things family and marriage.
Charlize on why she will never marry boyfriend Stuart Townsend: “I want to know that I wake up every morning with him because I want to, not because a piece of paper says so…I believe in love but I don’t believe in marriage.”
Charlize on a ring on her finger given to her by Stuart: “It was a Victorian thing. You put in a lock of hair or a little note to remind you of your loved one. Stuart gave it to me. Every time I go away he puts in a little love note. I wear it all the time. It’s not an engagement ring but it is a ring that signifies my commitment to him. I couldn’t imagine being more in love with anyone than I am with Stuart. He is beyond special. ‘The most amazing thing about Stuart is he got through to me on a level that no one else did. In my life there have been two people who formed me. My mother made me strong and wanted me to be invincible. Stuart made me softer. He was one of the few guys who wasn’t afraid of me. What he saw was not toughness but vulnerability. I am massively vulnerable, and for so long I just worked hard to cover that up. Stuart wasn’t scared to confront that. He is the one man who never worries about kicking me up the backside. It’s a good thing.”
Charlize on Hollywood’s obsession with weight: “I don’t have hang-ups about the way I look. I can see myself in the mirror when I’m all done up and think I look pretty hot, but I can see myself every day and see this round Dutch doll face. We’ve got so crazy about our faces and our bodies. I guard my privacy partly because I like to keep my head free from all that paranoia. I’m not super-skinny. I have curves and they belong on my body. I put on two stone for Monster but I also lost two stone when I played a woman with cancer in Sweet November [alongside Keanu Reeves].”
Charlize on having kids: “‘I’d be delighted if I found out I was pregnant tomorrow. But I’d also be delighted if nothing happened for a couple of years. I know I’m going to be a mother. And Stuart will be our baby’s father. That is something I’m sure of.”

Will Smith and
Charlize Theron as they hit the red carpet today for the British premiere of their action flick,
Hancock, at London’s Leicester Square.

Directed by Peter Berg, you can catch the sure-to-be action-packed flick when it hits theaters on July 2.

Joined by co-star Jason Bateman and director Peter Berg, Hollywood heavyweights Charlize Theron and Will Smith cause a paparazzi frenzy as they hit the red carpet for the Paris premiere of Hancock at L’Olympia Hall on Monday.
In his latest superhero flick, Will portrays an alcoholic superhero named Hancock who is despised by the public because of his laziness. When he saves the life of PR executive Ray Embrey (Bateman), the latter helps rehabilitate Hancock. He starts having an affair with Ray’s wife Mary (Theron) until he faces his greatest challenge.
The story was originally written by Vincent Ngo in 1996 and had languished in Hollywood for some time. Hancock was originally intended to be filmed before I Am Legend and has had various directors attached, including Tony Scott, Michael Mann, Jonathan Mostow, and Gabriele Muccino.
The film is scheduled for release on July 2.

Charlize Theron blasts celebrities who constantly court media attention, branding their attitude “sad” and “ugly”, in the July issue of GQ magazine.
Charlize on fame-obsessed stars striving to be paparazzi fodder: “It comes across as this really sad need for approval. I’ve heard people make comments like, ‘You don’t really want to be in the tabloids but you need to be for your career.’ They believe it’s actually important. It’s not. It’s ugly.”
Charlize on suggestions that actresses should welcome the tabloid attention: “People say, ‘That’s your job.’ It really isn’t, actually. It’s not my job to go out there and make an ass out of myself.”
Charlize on stars who spread their personal lives over the pages of glossy magazines: “Like, your life belongs to us now? That’s the deal? I didn’t get that memo. It wasn’t sent to me and I didn’t sign it. So, f*ck you.”
Charlize on her tough South African upbringing: “It made me resilient. When you come from a harsh landscape you have to get on with it. Theres not a lot of whining about sh*t.”
Charlize on glitzy celebrity parties: “I’d rather get drunk on red wine and talk with people I love. Friends come over and we cook, take long walks and hang out on the beach.”
Charlize on her desire to become a mom: “I want a family. I want to enjoy every moment.”

From playing alongside zebras in South Africa to walking the red carpet with the biggest names in the biz, Charlize Theron has transformed herself into one major Hollywood powerhouse. Now the big screen beauty shares her thoughts on everything from love, marriage to America’s phobia with nudity in the July issue of Glamour magazine.
Charlize on America’s fear of topless beaches: “It bothers me that in this society, it’s OK seeing a guy blow another’s head off, but a child seeing Janet Jackson’s boob at the Super Bowl is the worst thing that could happen. It’s not the end of the world! It’s just a breast!”
Charlize on what keeps her 7-year relationship with Stuart Townsend going: “He’s got beautiful feet and hands. [Laughs.] Here’s the thing: The Beatles had it wrong about love. They did! I think if you are in a one- or two-year relationship, love is enough. You can thrive on that. [But] when you hit years three and four, you realize that if you’re going to live with somebody and not just live near somebody…you have to be nurtured emotionally and spiritually, and you have to be intrigued. Because if that intrigue runs out, you’re not going to want to go home anymore.”
Charlize on why she and Stuart have not walked down the isle: “I want to be clear: I am not judgmental about [the institution of] marriage. I am judgmental about how our government doesn’t want to see the reality of gay and lesbian marriages. [But] I have always known [that marriage is] not something for me. Even when I was a little girl I never dreamed of the white dress and all of that.”
Charlize on how she manages to stay out of the tabloids: “Stuart and I are private because in this business, it’s hard to hold onto something sacred. In this town, you know where not to go if you don’t want [attention]. ”
Charlize on who she is voting for in the presidential election: “I’m voting for Barack Obama. He’s inspiring. Stu and I were watching a documentary the other day about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and there was something about looking into his eyes that reminded me of looking into [Nelson] Mandela’s. And that also reminded me of looking into Obama’s eyes. There is something [in Obama] that transcends.”

Photographed by Craig McDean, big screen beauty Charlize Theron graces the June cover of W magazine.
Inside the mag, the 32-year-old actress hits out at film fans, claiming modern audiences are obsessed with “fluff.”
Miss Theron is bitter her most recent movie The Valley of Elah underperformed at the box office and is frustrated she can’t find more roles playing strong women, like in 2005’s North Country, and Monster - which won her a Best Actress Oscar in 2004.
Says Charlize: “I asked Michael Seitzman, who wrote North Country, ‘Why don’t you write these kind of stories more; these roles for women?’ He said, ‘There isn’t the demand for it.’ It’s not necessarily Hollywood’s fault. People don’t go to see these movies. I think it’s a bigger problem. We’ve become completely fluff obsessed.”

Renee Zellweger, Gwyneth Paltrow, Robert Downey Jr. and Oscar nominee Javier Bardem are among the stars recreating classic scenes from Alfred Hitchcock movies in a new Vanity Fair magazine spread.
CLICK HERE to check them all out. They’re amazing!!!
Zellweger imitates Kim Novak in Vertigo, Gwyneth plays Grace Kelly to Downey Jr.’s Cary Grant in To Catch A Thief and Bardem teams up with Scarlett Johansson to recreate a scene from Rear Window.
The inspired spread also features Jodie Foster, Charlize Theron, Marion Cotillard, Naomi Watts, Keira Knightley and Jennifer Jason Leigh recalling classic scenes from The Birds, Dial M For Murder, Psycho, Marnie and Rebecca.
But perhaps the most eye-catching snapshot is that of chubby funnyman Seth Rogen running from a plane - just like Cary Grant did in Hitchcock’s North By Northwest.
Enjoy!
