Cate Blanchett was just spotted grabbing a quick coffee at her local cafe in Double Bay, Sydney, Australia today while out running errands.
The normally fashion forward actress hit a style sour note on her day out, rocking a safari-inspired jacket, loose-fitting capris and an unsightly pair of black athletic shoes.
Meanwhile, fresh off the worldwide promotional campaign for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Cate is set to begin filming Wes Anderson’s The Fantastic Mr. Fox alongside fellow Hollywood heavyweights Bill Murray, George Clooney and Anjelica Huston.
Based on Roald Dahl’s children’s book, the flick is about a clever fox who constantly outwits three obnoxious, evil farmers who are angry with him for eating their produce.

Cate Blanchett looks gorgeous on the upcoming cover (and inside shots!) of Gotham magazine, on newsstands tomorrow.
The Aussie actress reveals she is “always fearful of performing,” but was “in heaven” while working on the new Indiana Jones film.
As for who she would love to work with after doing her thing with Harrison Ford? Try Daniel Day-Lewis, Javier Bardem, Simon Russell Beale, Alan Rickman, and Geoffrey Rush…..just to name a few!
Cate also tells the mag: “One worries about getting older- we’re all fearful of death, let’s not kid ourselves. I’m simply not panicking as my laugh lines grow deeper. Who wants a face with no history, no sense of humour?”

Cate Blanchett attended the Australian premiere of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull at the Greater Union George Street cinemas in Sydney today.
While we love Cate and all of her daring red carpet choices, even the best of us make mistakes sometimes!

The cast, crew and fans of Indiana Jones were out in full force today during the Cannes premiere of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull at the Palais des Festivals.
Stars Kate Capshaw, Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett and Shia Labeouf were in their red carpet finest as they joined Indie enthusiasts Goldie Hawn, Star Jones, Rachel Leigh Cook, Salma Hayek, Adrien Brody and resident Cannes judge Natalie Portman at the worrld premiere of the fourth and latest installment in adventure series.
Meanwhile, despite a 19-year wait for this Steven Spielberg and George Lucas collaboration, some critics are saying it is not likely to go down as one of the most memorable runs. Writes Brtain’s Telegraph: “With a cast clearly pre-fabricated to appeal to all ages, an overstuffed plot and an ageing action hero, it feels born of commercial calculation rather than a story that needed to be told. There’s a reason the previous Indy film 1989 was called The Last Crusade. Now it’s really time to entomb this elderly series once and for all.”

Cate Blanchett graces June’s hugely popular Eco Chic issue of Marie Claire UK.
Inside the mag, the new mom discusses green issues as well as her personal life, such as her husband and filming for the Inidana Jones movie.
On her husband: “We’re unnaturally close… He was the first person I was romantically involved with who I could talk to about how I work. I have actor friends whose partners don’t provide any constructive criticism. But I get support in all its forms from my husband… I really hope he gets that from me, too.”
On Indiana Jones: “This is one my kids can definitely see… Dash watched takes with me on set and he was really impressed as I was by ‘the guy in the hat’, as he referred to Harrison Ford.”
On the future: “I firmly believe we all have the capacity to think big thoughts and are ripe to be inspired. I’m an optimist. I believe we’re ready as a generation to seize this opportunity to make profound environmental changes for the better. After all, what’s the alternative?”

In what was arguably the most touching moment of the day, actress Cate Blanchett took time out to honour her friend and fellow Aussie Heath Ledger at the 2008 Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday afternoon.
Accepting her award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in I’m Not There, which also starred Heath, a very pregnant Cate ended her thank-you speech by honouring Heath, calling him “one the most beautiful, independent spirits of all” before dedicating the award to him.
Always a woman of class. Today was no exception.

Big screen beauty Cate Blanchett was casual last night for the opening of Ngapartji Ngapartji in Sydney, Australia.
Ngapartji Ngapartji (I Give You Something, You Give Me Something) is based on the forced removal of people from their traditional land in the Central Desert for British atomic weapons testing during the Cold War.
Meanwhile, earlier this week, Cate was one of the select few who made it on to Mr. Blackwell’s coveted annual best-dressed list….though you certainly wouldn’t be able to tell based on last night’s getup!

Looking typically chic in Chanel, big screen goddess Cate Blancett graces the current issue of France’s Madame magazine.
The 38-year-old actress is currently pregnant with her third child (due in April 2008) but that isn’t slowing Kate down. She has been given a double shot at Golden Globe glory, with two nominations in an awards shortlist dominated by World War II drama Atonement.
Cate is honoured in the best actress category for her role as England’s virgin queen in Elizabeth: The Golden Age, and in the supporting actress list for her critically-acclaimed portrayal of Bob Dylan in the biopic I’m Not There.
Tune in January 13, nine days before Oscar nominations are announced, to see Kate — in all of her maternal glory — do her thing on the Golden Globe red carpet.
