Don’t call her a pop star!

The iconic Beyonce reflects on her fabulousness in the October issue of British Marie Claire.

Beyonce on why she uses her alter ego ‘Sasha’: “Things I do when I am performing I would never do ‘normally.’ I always wish I could feel the way I do on stage when I’m doing a movie because I have out of body experiences…I’m so fearless.”

Beyonce on who her song ‘Irreplaceable’ is about: “The obvious person is not the person at all.”

Beyonce on being a pop star: “There is a time limit on being a pop star yes, being a legend, an icon, absolutely not. I’m over being a popstar, I don’t wana be a hot girl — I wana be iconic. And I feel like I’ve accomplished a lot. I feel like I’m highly respected, which is more important than any award or any amount of records. And I feel like there comes a point when being a pop star is not enough.”

Beyonce on being a role model: “I think I’m opening doors for more black women, just like Halle Berry and Diana Ross opened doors for me.”

Beyonce on Barack Obama: “I’m really proud, I think we’re making a bit of progress, it’s an exciting time. We all feel part of our country now.”

Beyonce is a woman on the go!

Just one day after touching down in L.A., the globetrotting songstress was back at LAX International Airport last night preparing to take off.

Looking casual in a white scoopneck blouse, skinny jeans and sandals, Beyonce flashed a polite smile to photogs but remained mum when they pressed for a response over the recent skin whitening/L’Oreal controversy.

So, where was B headed? To New York City to reshoot some critical scenes for her upcoming thriller, Obsessed, alongside Heroes hottie Ali Larter and Idris Elba.

In a new interview with MTV, Idris says: “Beyonce and I are a married couple and a temp that works at my office ends up falling in love with me and it all goes crazy. It’s a thriller.” Sarcastically he adds it’s “a great movie…even if it has the ugliest cast you’ve ever seen in your life!”

As for how she did? “That’s the question a lot of people are asking me. Can she pull it off? And she can. She’s really good.”

Days after her newest L’Oreal ad was accused of skin bleaching, a calm, cool, collected and seemingly fair-skinned Beyonce was spotted arriving at LAX International Airport on Tuesday.

Looking casual in jeans, a white sweater and oodles of designer bags, the singer was (as always) gracious with photogs, exchanging hellos anad thank yous following an exhaustive flight from New York City.

And while companies like L’Oreal are clamouring to have an association with the marketable singer, there is one person in this world who’d be more than happy no to have anything to do with Beyonce at all — her baby sister Solange!

The celebu-sibling is constantly questioned about her more famous elder sister, but makes fun of the situation to prevent going “crazy.”

She says, “I get asked about Beyonce all the time but I try and make fun of it. Sometimes I say she’s not my sister. Other times I say I’ve stuffed her in my suitcase and sent it to Dubai. I have to have fun with it or I’ll turn in to Britney (Spears) - shave my head and go totally crazy.”

Days after she glammed it up for her younger sister’s star-studded 22nd birthday in L.A., it was a casually dressed Beyonce who was snapped making her way through London’s Heathrow Airport today.

Proudly displaying the fact that she’s a born and bred Texan, the Southern belle flashed photogs a gracious smile before making her way to Claridges Hotel, the place where she’ll be calling home for the next week.

So, what’s Beyonce doing in London anyway? Rumour has it she will join hubby Jay-Z onstage at the O2 Wireless Festival on July 3 at Hyde Park.

A source tells Britain’s Daily Star: “He knows all eyes will be on him when he headlines Glasto but he’s actually planning on whipping up something special for Wireless too. He’s been talking to Beyonce about getting her on stage. Jay will also be flying in a huge string section and orchestra.”

One thing is for sure — there certainly won’t be a lack of chemistry!

Beyonce joined her little sister last night as the Knowles girls hit the dance floor during a party to celebrate Solange’s 22nd birthday at a Hollywood Hills mansion.

While DJ Samantha Ronson spun records, celeb invitees like Lindsay Lohan, Ludacris and JoJo sipped on champagne and snacked on barbecue chicken and cornbread.

As for the music? It was a medley of every hit Beyonce and hubby Jay Z have ever had. Together and seperately.

Meanwhile, B and her beau Jay Z have fueled speculation they’re gearing up for a duet at a summer festival.

The newlyweds are rumored to be appearing on stage together at the O2 Wireless Festival in London, just one week after the Jiggaman’s controversially headlines Glastonbury.

A source reveals, “Jay-Z is planning a spectacle to end of spectacles. He’s been talking to Beyonce about getting her on stage.”

AMY VS. BEYONCE: THE BATTLE FOR BOND

There were conflicting reports out of Britain over the weekend over whether UK soulstress Amy Winehouse or American R&B diva Beyonce will sing the theme song for Quantum of Solace, the 22nd film in the James Bond film series.

While Wino continues to battle her own personal demons publicly, it looks like she’s squaring off against Beyonce in a post-Grammy rematch. (As you may recall, Amy’s Rehab nabbed the Song of the Year trophy from Beyonce’s Irreplaceable last year.)

On Sunday, Miss Winehouse told the London Daily Star, “I’ve done loads of Bond songs. There are loads of good ones I’m really happy with. I don’t know what is wrong with them or what the problem is, to be honest. It’s there, ready and done, and it’s up to them if they want it or not.”

Sounds good, except that the Sunday Express is hailing Beyonce as the new voice of the Bond movie due out October 31. “Music industry insiders say the former Destiny’s Child singer has become firm favourite after first choice Amy fell off the rails. But whether or not Beyonce records the theme will be down to Barbara Broccoli, daughter of the late Bond producer Cubby.”

So, what the big deal, anyway? After all, it’s just a theme song, right? Wrong. This song could be the best shot at an Academy Award nomination for a Bond movie theme in years.

That being said, Team Amy or Team Beyonce?
