Just a small update on Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz’s new baby.
The new parents welcomed Bronx Mowgli Wentz, a healthy 7 lbs., 11 oz. boy, late Thursday night.
Says a spokesperson: “Ashlee, Pete and baby Bronx are all healthy and happy, and thank everyone for their well wishes!”
The unique middle name of Mowgli is likely taken from the character in Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book.

FYB can confirm that Ashlee Simpson has gone into labour at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Ashlee and Pete Wentz were married on May 17 in LA.
A doting aunt Jessica Simpson recently told Ellen DeGeneres: “They are going to be the best parents. They’re amazing and so excited.”

Due to give birth at “any point” now,
Ashlee Simpson hosted a top secret baby shower on Saturday in Los Angeles.
After sending out some last-minute email invitations, friends and family gathered at the Bel-Air Hotel for some cake-serving and gift-giving.
Last week, Pete Wentz told Ryan Seacrest during an interview for his L.A. radio show that his wife is due to deliver their first child together “any second now,” adding: “I am on call permanently right now. She’s at the very end, and it could happen at any point.”
As for any baby names? The couple is reportedly waiting to meet their bundle of joy — rumoured to be a boy — before giving him a name.

Ashlee Simpson was seen going through security at the Bob Hope Burbank Airport today before taking off.
The lip syncstress did a good job covering up her growing baby bump.
Meanwhile, joined by fellow moms Tori Spelling, Angie Harmon and Marissa Jaret Winokur, Ashlee is designing one-of-a-kind Maclaren strollers for the Celebrity Mom “Style My Stroller” Campaign to benefit the CJ Foundation for SIDS.
The CJ Foundation is the leading organization in the country dedicated to raising awareness, funding research and offering support services to families impacted by Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. The online auction will be held from October 6 to October 13, to coincide with SIDS Awareness Month.
Bidding will take place at Charityfolks.com. These one-of-a-kind strollers will be on special display at Babies”R”Us in New York City’s Union Square.

Soon-to-be mom Ashlee Simpson was snapped going in for a scheduled check up at Century City Medical Plaza in Los Angeles on Thursday.
While most pregnant women nearing the end of their third trimester tend to give their feet a break by wearing comfy shoes, Mrs. Wentz would have none of that as she rocked skinny jeans with matching high heeled boots.
The mum-to-be is rumoured to be expecting a baby boy come Thanksgiving, though she insists she hasn’t started thinking about names yet.
So long as he’s not named after a piece of fruit, we approve.

It was ballooning belly first for Ashlee Simpson as the mum-to-be waddled her way down the red carpet at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles today.
She added that in looking for dresses she realized, “You have to pick ones that don’t stick to your belly.”
When told she looked beautiful by pre-show host Taylor Swift, the Alexander McQueen-clad lip songstress said: “It’s the three Bs - the boobs, the belly and the booty.”
She went on to offer a few tips on showing up at an award show when pregnant: You have to “pick a dress that doesn’t stick to your stomach.”‘

Joined by some pals, the mum-to-be was spotted shopping for make up at Senna Cosmetics Studio in Beverly Hills yesterday.
Meanwhile, Ryan Cabrera says he believes his former lady love will be a great mom. The washed-up rocker tells People: “She’ll be a great mom. She’s just a good person and she’s dedicated to her family. “It’s a good family. It will be a good home.”

A heavily pregnant Ashlee Simpson spent her afternoon shopping for beauty products today.
From Robertson Blvd to Beverly Hills, the singer sampled and purchased a slew of pricy self-indulging goodies. Nothing like some special creams and scents to relax and soothe a pregnant and tired body!
As it happens, hubby Pete Wentz was at the same Barney’s New York store shooting the breeze with fellow musician Cee-Lo Green moments earlier but the lovebirds passed like ships in the night just missing each other!

The lip syncstress spent approximately two hours at the establishment and left looking relaxed and happy.

Ashlee Simpson was all burgeoning belly as she re-launched the Request clothing line at Zellers inside the Square One mall in Mississauga, Canada.
Joined by a gaggle of her die hard fans, the mum-to-be officially ushered in the Back to School season with a live appearance promoting the stylish brand that “allows young style mavens to dress each garment up or down with their own personal flare.”
While there was no live lip-syncing performance (does she even sing anymore?), Ashlee took the stage and answered questions about her own personal style and, of course, her impending motherhood.
