Prior to President Barack Obama’s swearing in, Aretha Franklin belted out My Country, ‘Tis of Thee.
While the song was lovely, all eyes were on her bedazzled hat.
But since it’s such a historic day, we pardon Miss Thing’s fashion blunder.

Aretha Franklin tops Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 greatest singers of the rock era in the magazine’s special issue, out Friday, with four separate covers: Franklin, Elvis Presley (No. 3), John Lennon (No. 5) and Bob Dylan (No. 7).
The list was compiled from a poll of producers, Rolling Stone editors and musicians.
