Today marks the one-year anniversary of the tragic death of Anna Nicole Smith and in a new book, Anna Nicole: Portrait of an Icon, written by her dress designer Pol’ Atteu and his partner Patrik Simpson. The book tells some startling stories from their eight years of friendship and Larry Birkhead said this week he plans to sue. Maybe most damaging: that Larry “hit on” the two when they all first met. Birkhead says the stories are “false.”

Meanwhile, baby Dannielynn not only visited her mom’s grave in the Bahamas to mark the one-year anniversary, but also the church where Anna Nicole’s funeral service was held a year ago.

Joined by her greiving papa Larry, 17-month-old Dannielynn Birkhead visits the Nassau graves of her mother, Anna Nicole Smith, and brother, Daniel Smith.

In a new interview that will likely air throughout the next month (and then some!), Larry tells Entertainment Tonight that the visit was hard for him, but important for Dannielynn to honour the one-year anniversary of Anna Nicole’s death.

Says the mourning babydaddy: “One day I can tell her that we went to visit her mom.”

Meanwhile, Page Six reported yesterday that Anna Nicole’s mother, Virgie Arthur, has been hawking exclusive rights to photos of her acting out a similar scene.

A rep for the exploitive granny wrote in an email: “She’ll go to the Bahamas if you want . . . She would like to visit the grave, and it would make pretty emotive pix of her doing so.”

Looks like peddling photos runs in the family!!!

INSIDE ANNA’S DIARIES

“Don’t Read!! Personall (sic),” warns the diary’s inside cover. But its author, Anna Nicole Smith, has no hold in death on the remnants of her life.

The public now can discover that she was delighted by rough sex, ecstatic over the prospect of plastic surgery for her breasts, and fearful of a jealous boyfriend. She was careless with spelling, punctuation, and, too often, with her own well-being.

The newly released handwritten diary pages are from a different diary and will be posted online at urauctions.com, said Thomas Riccio, a partner in Universal Rarities.

Copies of 60 diary pages were provided to the AP by Universal Rarities, a Corona-based auction house. The diaries were purchased from a memorabilia shop by a group of investors, who sold two of them to a German businessman for more than $500 000.

And the world’s fascination with the random ramblings of a drug addicted, uneducated, borderline illiterate woman continues.

In ‘Who Cares?’ news, Anna Nicole Smith’s babydaddy arrived in Kentucky today from the Bahamas with their infant daughter and said he is looking forward to introducing the baby to his family.

“It just feels good to be home,” Larry Birkhead told the Associated Press after stepping off a private jet and walking up to a fence where more than a dozen photographers and a handful of reporters were gathered.

Larry plans to show off 7-month-old Dannielynn to his family in Louisville and “relax and horse around.”

As for where the L.A.-based photographer and his new daughter ultimately plan to live, Larry says he’s unsure: “This is one pit stop.”

Something tells me the baby Dannielynn parade has only just begun. Next stop? The New York City set of ‘The Insider’!

EVEN DEAD ANNA CAN’T STOP TALKING

A book being shopped to publishers this week finds Anna Nicole Smith — via a series of never-printed interviews she gave journalist Joyce Wagner back in 1996, at which point she was fresh out of rehab and bankrupt by an ex-nanny’s harassment suit — chronicling a childhood of parental and sexual abuse, as well as her intimate encounters with husband J. Howard Marshall.

In a snippet played for the New York Daily NewsRush & Molloy, Anna recalls how when she returned from running away from home at age 12, mom Virgie Arthur “started beating the s— out of me… kicking me with her boot,” and in another instance “hit me with her [deputy sheriff's] nightstick.” Anna also recounts sexual abuse, though Wagner isn’t previewing any details on that.

As for her and J. Howard’s sexcapades, Anna says, “He could not exactly satisfy me, which is to be expected, but he was very satisfied himself.” (Well, duh.) “He satisfied me in other ways. He cared about me… never looked down at me.”

Call me a sap but I love me a good love story. As twisted as this one may be.

ANNA NICOLE’S SIS JUMPS ON THE TRAIN WRECK

All aboard! Donna Hogan, Anna Nicole Smith’s half-sister (same dad) does a Marilyn Monroe-esque pose (without the subway gust of wind) while promoting her new book ‘Train Wreck: The Life and Death of Anna Nicole Smith.

Wow. Let’s give the girl props. She must have written this really fast. And just think of all the research she had to do since she hadn’t even seen her troubled sister for ten years.

Hey, does a preference for peroxide run in families, like a dominant genetic trait?

AN ANSWER IS COMING…OR IS IT?

Bahamian court may rule very shortly on who is the father of Anna Nicole Smith’s baby daughter, Dannielynn.

While there is a court hearing today in the Bahamas, the results of the DNA testing may not be revealed.

Participants in the case are under a gag order that will be enforced until the court proceedings are over. It is possible Tuesday’s hearing will be continued until Friday.

That gives ‘Entertainment Tonight’ three more days to bastardize this already ridiculous story.

UPDATE: Just to clear up any confusion, the gag order only affects the details of the court case. That does not affect whether the results will be made public. Expect an answer in moments…..

THE BABYDADDY REVEALED TODAY?

Dannielynn Smith’s biological father will be revealed once and for all!

The results could be announced as soon as today after judges threw out Howard K. Stern’s challenge on the paternity suit filed by photographer Larry Birkhead.

According to the three judges, Stern should have objected to the Supreme Court before it ordered the DNA testing.

It is a bad week for Stern. It has also been revealed that the lawyer was the owner of eight of the 11 drugs found in Anny’s body during her autopsy.

Anyway, stay tuned. Maybe this ridiculous, never-ending story will finally come to an end….though I highly doubt it.
