Pete Wentz and a friend stopped by a Golden Apple comic book shop yesterday for some hardcore browsing of the aisles.

Afterwards the Fall Out Boy bassist and his buddy got their retail therapy on at DCMA Collective, where Pete lost his hat and picked up some funky shades.

Meanwhile, Pete and wife-to-be Ashlee Simpson, one of People magazine’s Most Beautiful couples, have given the mag some insight on their relationship.

AS: “The first day that we met we were attracted to each other.”
PW: “We were dating other people [but] we were actually good. Neither one of us did anything.”
AS: “Yeah, we were good.”
PW: “I was into everything about her.”
AS: “He’s a cutie, of course, and he has an awesome personality and kind of brings out the best of me, and I knew that even before we were dating. There was just like an awesome connection we had.”

On the Best Compliment They Give Each Other
PW: “I got told my eyes looked really good at the shoot today.”
AS: “And I got told my boobs were great. That’s pretty cool.”
PW: “I’m constantly bombarded with compliments by her, which is good. It’s good to be bombarded in that way.”

PW: “I really have a thing with matching underwear and bras.”
AS: “Yeah, you do!”
PW: “I don’t really know why, and I know most girls don’t [match], but she wore, like, a polka-dot one once and that was awesome.”
AS: “I felt like Betty Boop.”
PW: “It was, like, old-school hot.”
AS: “I like everything that he puts on and I like him in nothing as well. [To Pete:]” Your mom’s really gonna like that one.”

On Ashlee’s Red Hair
PW: “The red hair – I think it’s awesome!”
AS: “Thanks, babe.”
PW: “I had a super Jessica Rabbit crush when I was little. She had red hair like you.”

Andy Samberg is all smiles as he departs Los Angeles International Airport on Tuesday.

The Saturday Night Live funnyman was returning to the Big Apple after attending a series of meetings to discuss future film projects.

Andy was most recently at Northwestern University in Chicago where he spoke with students and did a slew of interviews with local media. Chatting with The Daily, Samberg shared where he gets his ideas for those famous digital shorts.

“All kinds of ways,” he revealed. “Sometimes I’ll think of something in the shower three weeks before the show or sometimes it’s literally be Friday afternoon and the show is the next day and we have to have a digital short, so we just sit down and lock our office door and try to come up with something. And sometimes it goes even later than that, as happened this past week. I don’t know if you guys saw the last digital short (Gnarls Barkley) actually did cancel. They’re our friends, so it’s no hard feelings, but we had a whole ‘nother idea, that by the way I thought of like two hours previous to that, so it was still cutting it pretty (expletive) close. We were all set up and ready to shoot and I was in that ridiculous wig and outfit and then they called and were like, we’re not coming.”

Remember all of those recent rumours that had Lindsay Lohan recording an R&B/hip hop album with the likes of Pharrelll Williams and Snoog Dogg? Well, it appears that sometimes you can believe everything you read!

According to Fox News, La Lohan has dropped some mad beats with Snoop and a source who got a first listen deems the track “amazing.” UMG is sparing no expense on this recording, bringing in all the usual suspects like hitmaker Timbaland to make a good record for the rehabbed and revived Lindsay.

As for Lindsay’s 14-year-old little sister, Ali? She too is in the studio recording her own album in Sin City.

After flashing a suspicious looking diamond on her engagement finger, Mariah Carey has sparked rumours that she and boyfriend Nick Cannon may be heading for the altar soon!!!

And the cover girl for this year’s edition of People magazine’s “100 Most Beautiful People” goes to……..Kate Hudson!

Editors chose her from among the 100 celebs who made it. The issue hits newsstands Friday.

Kate displaces Drew Barrymore, last year’s cover subject.

Says Miss Hudson: “I was a tomboy. I had three brothers. I was the girl with the dress on that always came back in the house filthy with scrapes and bruises. But I was always very girly. I had to be able to twirl so that my underwear showed.”

Other stars filling up the top five most beautiful people include Salma Hayek, Mary J. Blige, Rumer Willis and Sarah Silverman.

Last night, Paula Abdul stepped out of American Idol and into her own world. Or so one would think…..

The space-headed judge got a little confused because of the format change. After each contestant sang the first of two Neil Diamond songs, the judges were told to quickly assess the situation before moving on to the second round.

Paula comments on Jason Castro’s performance of Forever in Blue Jeans? “I loved hearing your lower register. But in the second song, I felt like your usual charm was missing for me. It kind of left me a little empty. The two songs made me feel like you’re not fighting hard enough to get into the top four.”

Murmurs soon took over the audience.

Fellow judge Randy Jackson quickly went into damage control mode and reminded Paula that “he’s just done the first song.”

Vapid AI host Ryan Seacrest quickly added, “You’re seeing the future, baby.”

Hmmm….has Paula gone crazy once again? Or is something far more sinister going on here?

While leaving lunch in Beverly Hills with her constant companion and boyfriend Benji Madden, Paris Hilton made a new fashion statement of peace and love.

The necklace she was sporting was the combination of a heart and a peace sign matched with a very demure outfit of a strapless girly summer dress. Kind of ironic for the girl that has more rumored celebrity feuds than most can count.

Perhaps Benji really is making her turn over a new leaf!

Then again, she also sported a Vote or Die t-shirt back in 2004 and she did not vote nor die so her fashion statements can probably be taken with a grain of salt.

Reality stars-turned-girl group Girlicious dropped by the New York City set of The Sauce today to chat about their unexpected hit song and video, Like Me.

Looking nothing short of girliciously ghetto, Chrystina, Nichole, Natalie and Tiffanie were all on hand to share the news that their video is currently #3 on iTunes. Take that skeptics!

Girlicious made their television performance debut on KTLA this past Thursday where they performed Like Me. They can be seen on MTV’s TRL tomorrow before heading over to CNBC’s The Big Idea to talk with host Donny Deutsch in what will undoubtedly be a poignant interview.

After attending last night’s star-deficient launch party for LG Electronics’ Scarlet HD TV Series, Lauren Conrad was back at “work” today filming scenes for The Hills at the Creperie in Los Angeles.

The faux designer was joined by her latest love interest, 22-year-old O.C. native Doug Reinhardt, who plays baseball for the Orioles minor league team. The lovesbirds have been seeing each other for a whole month now and it appears Mr. Mystery Man No More is a-ok with starring in the upcoming season. Who needs the Big Leagues with there’s MTV, right?

And while LC’s beverage of choice is an icy bottle of Corona in real life, the reality starlet opted to sip on glass of iced tea….of the Long Island variety, of course.
