After a well deserved Caribbean vacation with her hubby, British soulstress Amy Winehouse returns to what she does best (ok, second best) as she takes the stage at the Mercury Music Awards ceremony in London on Tuesday.
Rocking a colourful strapless mini-dress, the troubled yet talented singer belted out her international hit ‘Rebab’ without incident. No skipped lyrics. No slurred words. No stomping off the stage.
Famous for it’s eclectic choice of nominees, this year’s awards is no exception with classically trained quintet Basquiat Strings going against artists such as new-rave band Klaxons. Previous favourite Amy has slipped in the odds following her recent high-profile struggle with personal issues and alleged drug abuse.
Nonetheless, it appears some time off and a little sun is exactly what Amy needed. Girlfriend looks great!

I wish she would still go on the MTV VMAs, she can make that show interesting (it hasn’t been since Madonna made out with Christina and Britney!!!).
She sang at the MTV movie awards a few months back so that was cool. I think it is good for her to take some time and just chill. She obviously can’t handle regular everyday life without medicating. She looks better I think too!
I hear she was absolutely great at the Mercury awards–hope she continues to do well–would really like to see her at the VMA show.
She needs a lot more than a little sun! She needs to be properly rehabilitated and removed from her husband. They are destructive towards each other and she’s not going to get better until she’s away from the drugs and from him. She is a great talent but she’s just letting it all waste away. So sad to see. I think her dress is really fun though, great colors!
