MADONNA GETS NEW COURT DATE FOR ADOPTION

A paparazzo by the name of Thomas Hinton tells Newsday that he wasn’t to blame for startling Madonna’s horse and causing her weekend fall while riding a horse in the Hamptons. He claims he photographed her from a public road before and after the accident. (The New York Post says she was leaping over hurdles when the accident occurred.)

Meanwhile, Madonna finally got some good news today: A Malawi court official says the appeal in her bid to adopt a 3-year-old girl from Malawi will be heard on May 4.

A judge rejected Madonna’s application to adopt Chifundo “Mercy” James earlier this month, saying the 50-year-old pop superstar had not met residency requirements. Madonna, who just last week bought a $40 million townhouse on the Upper East Side, is not required to be present.
