Offering shutterbugs a wave hello, Ben Affleck continued shooting scenes for his new movie, The Company Men, alongside Kevin Costner in Farmingham, MA today (April 15).
Early this morning, before cameras were rolling, the Beantown native chatted with Boston.com about his love for print and the terminal fate of newspaper.
“Part of the erosion of newspapers is about new media, but part of it is newspapers’ own fault,” the 36-year-old actor says in the interview. “I think the public has felt let down by The New York Times and others for not asking the tough questions, whether about the Iraq war or the subprime issue. The job of the fourth estate is to stand outside the vested interests and say, ‘Wait a minute, this isn’t viable.’”
He may not be able to act his way out of a paper bag but Ben does indeed have a point!

wow, i will kinda agree with that
He does so know how to act..!! And yes he said also that the newspapers (printed) will be faded
soon since everyone uses the internet for the
papers. now..
Liberal newspapers are dying because they have lost all credibility.
They are in bed with democrats and the bias is to obvious .
ben should stick to acting, he is not the brightest bulb.
I definately agree with that. There is a lot of bias going on in newspapers today! I’m not a huge fan of Ben as an actor but I think he seems like a good guy, despite actually loving Jennifer Lopez at some crazy point in his life.
