ANGELINA VISITS THE TROOPS

In addition to meeting with Iraqi refugees today, Hollywood humanitarian Angelina Jolie also visited with U.S. troops and other international forces in the area.
Looking breathtaking with her hair tied back and only wearing the smallest amount of lip gloss, the actress and activist happily posed one-by-one alongside an endless line of appreciative fans.
Angie’s surprise visit to Iraq is just the latest leg in what has been come an increasingly wide world tour. Most recently, she’s been in Prague and Chicago, filming her upcoming flick, ‘Wanted.’
Next up for the 32-year-old star? A run as railroad exec Dagny Taggart in the film version of Ayn Rand’s ‘Atlas Shrugged.’ After that, she will be taking a break from movies to raise her family. Or so she says.

Oh God I hate this woman and everything she represents and all illusions she makes people believe, when in fact she is nothing more than a neurotic narcissistic drugaddict. Still to this day, and I don’t think she will ever change, it’s all just a facade with her and I gag everytime I see her. But I guess I have to live in a world where everything she does and everything she says is praised and worshipped. What has the world come to.

^^Yeah…let’s just keep worshipping the other celebs who don’t do shit with their time and money except buy a new Burka bag, or wear the latest and greatest ASSessories or buy a brand new Mercedes- only to crash it into a tree cause they’re drunk and high off their ass. Let us all buy the latest magazines documenting which celeb is now going to start their own clothing line exploiting cheap labor or how Own Wilson, with all his money decides that he wants to commit suicide cause life must be soo fucking hard. Poor things!!

First of all it’s a Birkin. A burka is something muslim women wear to cover their hair. Worshipping ANY celeb is outrageous, they are all people and just as or more flawed than regular people who aren’t photographed on a daily basis. I just fucking resent that this bitch visits a country, stays for a day or two and gets plenty of photoops while she is down there, and then it’s back to a private jet and home. Who the fuck is she helping by getting photographed? Why is that worth of mentioning? What about people who actually devote themselves to really helping the Iraqis? People who actually risk their lives and put their own lives on hold while helping the victims of the war? St. Angelina can kiss my ass, I will never utter something nice about a hypocrite.

I think its fantastic that Ange went and visited the troops! Sure she got a good photo-op out of it, but they got to meet someone new and do something different with their day. I’m sure a lot of the guys love her so were really excited to meet her as well. There are plenty of other things Ange could have done for a photo-op that don’t benefit other people as well. At least this one works both ways. She looks great sans makeup as well.
And just for the record LikeitMatters- just because you’ve got a lot of money it doesn’t mean you have to be happy. I know a lot of people with tons of money who would trade it all for happiness tomorrow if they got the chance.

Hehe I laughed at the ‘burka’ bag as well- the burka is the more oppressive covering- the women generally just wear hijabs. BeeJeeBus I completely disagree with you about Angelina but totally agree with you about the celeb worship thing. It is possible just to be a fan of someone without thinking they are perfect!

i don’t see anything wrong with using one’s celebrity for a good cause…stars use their celebrity to market all sorts of products, most of which don’t have any kind of positive impact on society. i think more artists (or people with visibility and means in general) should use their fame for something worthwhile. whether you like angelina or not, the truth is that she has raised awareness of the various humanitarian efforts that she is involved in….and no doubt, there are many more “no-name” people on the ground each day who do more than angelina, but if you want to get a certain message across and encourage a wider audience to get involved, someone with angelina’s fame does the trick….and that is the whole point….

I don’t like Angelina but i do respect some of the work she does and has done. I have to agree with BeJeeBus, I think she has completely brainwashed most of you into thinking she’s some sort of saint. Don’t you remember the shagging in the limo on the way to carpet event days. Wearing blood around her neck. Talking about her sex life (using knives ect.) in interviews. How she was sexually active in kindergarden? I’m sorry but if someone told me all this and more i would not think they were stable in their minds.

BJB.. we def don’t agree.. but bashing isn’t necessary y’all! Anywho.. Take away the name.. appreciate the effort.. someone cannot be that selfish to pretend to be so selfless just to maintain her status in the media.. just doesn’t compute to me. Regardless of her reasoning.. bringing a smile to those soldiers faces that miss their family and friends and fighting a war more and more of them don’t believe in (trust me, I have 8 family members there and most don’t agree with it anymore). Until you have walked a war zone and see the utter devestation and death and mutilation of innocent people our soldiers and ordinary civilians experience everyday, please don’t underestimate the impact of a visit from a celebrity, especially one who actually knows what she is talking about b/c she is involved in UN work and goes into the refugee camps and mingles with the everyday people. This isn’t about sanctifying Ms. Jolie.. it’s about appreciating one human being giving to another. Period.. she puts a lot more effort into making the world a better place than most do and that’s commendable.. Like someone previously said, if Lilo or Paris did this same thing.. I would actually have some respect for them.. AND.. lastly.. if you all don’t think she risks her life going there, you must be joking.. terrorist don’t give a shit about her, you, me or their own family.. they will kill anyone for their cause and don’t care if it’s fair or not..anyone who has watched an hour of coverage of this war would know that.

You know I really think she’s doing this for her country because I’m not sure she is for this war. And sure go to the poorest place to make people see what’s going on here can only be suggered by someone who surely don’t know how much this can help those poor people. She is one of the only one to do this when it’s Bono nobody says it’s doing that for photo op. I’m sorry but it’s stupid to think that.
If more of celebrities where doing this kind of things some things like Darfour could be talked much freely.
