An Atlanta judge has sentenced rapper T.I. to one year and a day behind bars on federal weapons charges.
“Today I would like to say thank you to some, and apologize to all,” the 28-year-old rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris, told U.S. District Judge Charles Pannell Jr. this morning.
T.I. will have between 30 and 60 days to report to prison.

Serves him right. These thug rappers are just a waste to society.
We all make mistakes, and do dumb things. He’s realized that what he did was wrong, and he’s ready to move on……………
Not all rappers are “thugs”, just like not all rapppers talk about hoes, and guns ect.
Hopefully when he gets out, his behaviour will change. Love his current album…
He’s quite the talent. It really does seem like he’s trying to send a message to youth that being a thug is NOT the way to go through life. I hope he comes out a better man a true role model.

I think T.I. is different, I wouldn’t dismiss him so easily. I remember reading an interview where he expressed genuine disappointment in himself for the very things you guys mentioned– parading around a “thug” culture that only ended up behind bars, mad at himself for wasting his opportunities and blessings. Worried that kids would emulate it. I think he’s turned a corner, and I have high hopes for him.

You all clearly don’t know the story behind why TI was arrested. He was wrong, but if you put yourself in his shoes you’d understand why he did what he did.
Wow. So he’s actually going to jail for that long? That’s a first in celeb land….I wonder if he will get out early like most of the other celebrities. His charges are very serious though and maybe it will send a good message out to rappers who seem to think guns are just another accessory and make them ‘thug’. It’s pretty pathetic to be honest. I always though T.I. seemed a little more mature and educated than other rappers out there at the moment though. Guess I was wrong.
