The singer/actress was clutching what appears to be a number of scripts in her hands which suggests she’s finally getting to work on her yet-untitled Touchstone Television-produced sitcom for The CW.
After lackluster sales of her latest studio album, Brandy will soon show off her acting shops when she plays a die-hard New Yorker who moves to Los Angeles to take a job as an entertainment editor.
“It’s going to be me playing [a character based on] my life, but it’s not going to be me as Brandy,” she explained in an interview with MTV News. “It’s going to be a totally different person, but with the same challenges that I go through in my life … being a single mom, raising my child, trying to have a life, trying to have friends and trying to do my own thing.”
The pilot for the series, which will be co-executive produced by Brandy and her mother Sonja, will be penned by Girlfriends creator Mara Brock Akil.

I’m really hoping the rumors are true that Jay-Z will manage her career. Her mom needs to sit down because whatever she’s doing at this point is not working. Brandy could honestly blow up all over again with the right management & promotion. Don’t act like y’all didn’t use to jam to her shit…
