Is Britney Spears at the centre of a child abuse investigation? So say the career ruiners over at TMZ.
An unscheduled hearing was held today at L.A. County Superior Court. Present — Britney’s lawyer, Dennis Wasser, K-Fed’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan and a lawyer from the Los Angeles County Counsel who is assigned to the dependency court.
We do not know the specifics of the allegations but we’re told the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services is conducting an active investigation.
A hearing in the custody case has been scheduled for September 4, which will be a follow up to today’s appearance.
Well, it’s about damn time. I love me some Brit but a dedicated and responsible mother she is not. And let’s face it — ex-beau Kevin Federline ain’t no soccer dad either.
My idea? Hand Sean-P and Jayden-J over to Brangelina. Problem solved.

same shit, different smell. If the allegations that have been brought up in the media are in question in the hearing, (soda in bottles, not changing diapers, handling cigarettes or alcohol, etc.) it makes complete sense the child protective services would be investigating. I’m pretty sure that in ANY case where someone(the other parent) is trying to show someone else an unfit or neglectful parent(not to mention actual physical abuse) the HAVE to investigate. But there is no news here. I think since Britney hasn’t been doing anything much the past two weeks, bloggers are getting bored! Also, NO she is not an abusive mother. In my opinion. Maybe we should look at case profiles of REAL abusive parents and then everyone will know the difference.

Those kids either way will be raised by the HELP. SOOOO with that said they just need to see who has the best help. In htis case she can afford better. I can hardly wait till Brit has her next breakdown. Because what she had last spring when she shaved her head was only a precurser to the real thing. And when it comes, girlfriend is gonna be in serious trouble. Maybe when they take the kids away from her, that should do it!
She isn’t so bad that she’d do what they’re saying, at worst I think she just fobs her kids off to nannies and of course they should go home but someone is seriously trying to put up a smear campaign. It just seems really vicious and no mother deserves that even Britney.

Sources tell TMZ the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services “abuse investigation” into Britney Spears does not involve physical mistreatment of her children.
Sources say the complaint lodged with DCFS involves allegations of poor dental hygiene, as well as poor eating and sleeping habits for her kids. Curiously, although DCFS keeps these allegations secret, they ended up in legal papers filed today by K-Fed’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, suggesting it might have been Fed-Ex himself who lodged the complaint.
And get this: DCFS is all too familiar with the family. We’ve learned that another anonymous complaint was filed with DCFS on July 2, but it went nowhere.
Sources say DCFS has put both Britney and K-Fed under the microscope in the past. In February, 2006, DCFS famously investigated Britney after the notorious car seat incident with Sean Preston. Ditto April, 2006 (while Brit and K-Fed were still together), after Sean Preston fell out of a high chair — another DCFS investigation came and went.
Btw - Britney does NOT have nannies, unlike other stars or KFed.
I agree with you Heidi. If the media is making allegations against Britney, it would be seen as kind of slack and negligent for Child Services not to do a little investigation. I’m pretty sure though that Britney’s kids are well looked after. When they aren’t with their mom they would be with a qualified nanny. She may have done some crazy things but I really don’t think she would ever hurt her children. When I’ve seen them in pictures they seem to be happy, healthy little boys.
Britney does NOT HAVE A NANNY right now. When she has the boys, they are with HER- truly frightening. She probably sticks them in a playpen (with the Yorkie, of course), while she goes and does lines.
