Valerie Bertinelli proudly shows off her new and ever-shrinking figure on the cover of People. Two years ago, she weighed in at 172 pounds, more than 40 pounds over her goal weight for her 5′4″ frame.
But after 9 months on Jenny Craig, the company spokesperson has shaved her shape down to a pin-thin 132 pounds.
And she set a new goal: a bikini. “I thought, If I’m so afraid of a bikini, there’s something wrong. And so I had to get back into one!” Valerie says.
She now runs three times a week. A few weeks before slipping into her two-piece, she trimmed her daily caloric intake from 1700 to around 1200, and gave up her regular “splurge” glass of Champagne.
Looks like the hard work paid off!

Holy bad Photoshop! Even I can do a better job as smoothing out the edges… wow.
132 lbs on a 5′4″ frame is NOT pin-thin.
I think she looks great. I’m 27 years old and I wouldn’t have the nerve to rock that. Props.
Good for her.
photoshop never fails
You make me PUKE(ME)!!! DUMB BITCH!!!
2 years younger than Madonna and look at how much better VB looks.
so they gave her two belly buttons huh? A inny and an outty…interesting
that is not her body.. get real .. her head but not her body!!
Airbrushed…
It’s a belly ring BEEF CURTAINS (RETARD)
From obesity to vanity. How very predictable.
Glad to see her taking care of herself though.
Ok there is no way she is that skinny(small) and weighs 132 and is only 5′4. I am 5′6 and weigh 135 and would never look that good in a bikini or a one piece. To be only 5′4 and be that thin looking she would have to weigh more like 120 or even less, this is obviously photo shopped.
V, what do you know? Everyone carries weight differently. 132 lbs. of lean muscle on her frame is just fine. You might be a flabby-ass 135 and thus look bigger. I swear, as women we are our own worst fucking enemy. Instead of giving the woman props for being in great shape at damn near 50 we find ways to pick her apart. WTF?!?!?!
photoshop and airbrushing, im not saying VB did not lose a bunch of weight, that is good for her, but no way does she look like that. I live in Malibu, and i can tell you, if i saw VB on the beach in this same bikini, she would not look anything like her body on the mag cover…99.9% of celebs bodies AND faces don’t look like what they want you to THINK they look like after all the smoke and mirrors of photoshop, air-brushing and good lighting. Also, interesting info, Kate Hudson’s body in person is flabby and she has cellulite all over her backside with a messed up flabby stomach…her face ain’t that great either in person…she is lucky her mom is goldie hawn or she would never be in movies. waaaaaay prettier and better looking talented girls out here than KH.
p.s. not to mention all the plastic surgeries these chicks out here are addicted to for their faces and bodies.
How sad that he allowed her PR people to go through with that charade. While I have no doubt she’s lost weight, and good for her on that if it made her healthy!
However. Photoshopped so badly that she has that moire pattern on her legs and stomach, and her head looks superimposed. As a woman exactly her age, body type, and weight, you would NOT be showing ribs or be that thin at that weight. Around 120 for a woman that age and size would get you that body. Even working out at 132 would not give you that lean look. What a sham. Did people not learn from that Kardashian person’s photoshop story this week? They smoothed her legs and thighs, and cut off inches off her waist in that pic.
A woman Bertinelli’s age, one that has lived a pretty hard core life, would not look like that. An 18 year old girl who’d never given birth might, but then again, she’s weigh less. Why doesn’t Valerie and her Sponsor be honest? Of course these are the same folks that had poor Kirstie Alley going on Oprah with a body stocking on under a bikini, and we saw how tragic that story turned out.
Why is the media trying so hard to hide what women REALLY look like? I’m in LA all the time, and can tell you that there are very few of these people that really look like their photoshopped selves. An authentic woman is a much better role model than an airbrushed one.
Oh, and you CANNOT sustain a 1,200 calorie diet while running three times a week and working out. Her hair will start falling out soon… that’s not enough food, and is unsustainable long term. the best she can hope for is when she goes back to eating like a normal human that she can keep up her workout schedule and afford her personal trainer, so that when the weight comes back, it won’t be so dramatic. Folks, you just can’t eat prepackaged foods the rest of your life. What’s the point of being alive if you can’t have a stinkin’ glass of champagne? And even with all of that sacrifice and endangering our health, they STILL have to photoshop you. Sad….
Yes the photo is Photoshopped. I saw live video of her in the bikini on tv this week and her hips are fair bit wider than the magazine photo shows. She did not look as thin as the photo makes her out to look. She did lose lots of weight and good for her, but come on magazine people show the real thing. I am so sick of all this plastic Hollywood crap!
Okay, I’m turning 50 this June and I’m 5′3″ tall, weigh an honest 113 lbs, and I don’t look like that. Even when I was younger, worked out every day and weighed 100lbs or so I never achieved that look! No wonder young girls are so freaking confused, being overweight, making a conscious effort to get back into a healthy shape and then not achieving an unrealistic look like the one on the magazine would make anyone go over the edge and give up… I guess if I had money I could get someone to give me that kind of body too…. all that hard work and in one picture it all gets thrown in the garbage. Its a shame.
