FIRST LADY MICHELLE OBAMA: WHITE HOUSE FARMER

michelle-obama-white-house-yard

The White House grounds will feature a vegetable garden for the first time since first lady Eleanor Roosevelt planted her “Victory Garden” during World War II.

Joined by local elementary school students, First Lady Michelle Obama broke ground for the project — a 1100 square foot herb and vegetable plot — today (March 20).

The idea behind the garden is to promote healthy, sustainable food.

Why suddenly a garden? Over 100 000 people lobbied President Barack Obama online for the green-friendly move.

Ask them about the 50 Billion sent to foreign banks, yes your hard earned taxpayer money.
Madoff and AIG was just a Media distraction from the foreign money and the Youth Militia
    already passed through pelosi’s congress.

I see that all of the above posts are from narrow minded, hard core Republician types who will attack the Dem’s on absolutely anything no matter what. This garden is a nice idea and is costing relatively small potatoes (pun). Mrs. Obama is light years ahead of Mrs. Bush on every level. Republican conservatives–you lost !!!–get over it and help Obama.

Good one gabby , Off with their heads people are enraged with the govt in general and the media coverup.

as someone who has had a garden, this will save the white house money.
And her wardrobe is way more responsibly bought than most of our other modern first ladies.

I think Michelle Obama is going to do some wonderful things in the White House. I like that they are making it their home and actually getting in there and DOING things. It seems so often that the President and First Lady themselves never actually do it, they just show up for the official opening.

It’s great that the Obama’s are finally doing something right and doing it due to pressure from people who mean well–the slow food movement. It will help parents across the land develop viable alternatives to Fat Food city.

Love the idea of a garden, nice that they are listening to the people. O has been photographed with clothes from Target, The Gap and J. Crew and supports up and coming designers - I think that is an important thing for her to do knowing she will always be in the public eye. Kudos to the first family - I am excited to see what other ideas they will have in the next 4 years.

Obama is working hard at totally collapsing the economy.
We will ALL need veggie and fruit gardens.

Oh Anonymous go back to the Freepers and spout your drivel over there. You make absolutely no sense and you’re not saying anything particularly intelligent or poignant. And don’t be mad because Obama is cleaning up the mess that your guy made. If you’re mad about how much we need to spend to stop the decimation of our economy then be angry at those that caused the problems.

Now on an important note: Michelle’s hair looks fabulous. To the person who wrote about Laura Bush’s efforts around the globe - she was and should have been commended for her work. However, it has nothing to do with what Michelle Obama is doing for children and families here in America. And the idea of planting gardens is fantastic for both healthy living and for frugality. They seem to recognize that some people are struggling and every little bit helps.

It is lent! Let us try to find harmony in our differences and try to get along as Americans. To those who dislike Obama, re-examine the motives for your dislike. This goes equally for those who dislike the Bushes. What would we say if this was our last day on this earth? Will we still go on hating everyone. That will be sad.

Don’t be fooled the clothes from target,Gap,Jcrew are all companies that donated heavily to left wing organizations to spread propaganda.

Her outfit looks stupid for gardening - but I’m glad she’s planting a garden. I don’t like Dem policies, and I don’t even think I like her as a person (though I’ve never met her, so I guess I shouldn’t say that), but I’m still glad she’s planting a garden. Everybody should plant a garden. I just heard somewhere else about how she bought a “cheap” $280 sweater. So, her garden is cheaper than her sweater, and people think the garden is costing the taxpayers money?? At least the garden produces food.
