Network exec Mike Darnell appeared on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show this morning (March 19) to discuss Paula’s future after her contract expires the end of this season.
“As far as I’m concerned and as Fox is concerned, we want Simon [Cowell] to stay as long as he wants to stay,” he said. “And we’re currently trying to make a new deal with Paula, too.”
Does this mean new judge Kara Dioguardi will officially fill Paula’s stilettos as Idol’s third and final judge? After remindnig Ryan that his as well Randy Jackson’s contracts are also up for renewal next year, he declined to comment on Kara’s future.
