The New York Post is reporting that loud-mouth comedienne Roseanne Barr is the leading contender to fill Rosie O’Donnell’s spacious chair on ‘The View.’
A source close to the show said, “She’s a piece of work, she’s a character, she says what’s on her mind and she’s funny.” Another ABC staffer added, “They’re missing strong personalities on that show, and that’s what they’re going to need if they want to keep it going.”
Rosanne’s reps, meanwhile, say she hasn’t been approached by the show.
Other contenders mentioned as possible replacements include Joan Rivers (awful), Whoopi Goldberg (no longer funny), Kathie Lee Gifford (does the world really need more Cody and Cassidy stories?) and Connie Chung (you know, the once respected news reporter.)
If you ask me, it should be a battle between Kathy Griffin, Margaret Cho and Ross the Intern. Youth is so underrated.

I agree! Lisa Ling was a great addtion to the team. She was however too much of a journalist to reamin in that arena.
She is doing amazing work for NGC channel. She just went in to North Korea with a team of doctors to restore eyesight to those who have early onset glaucoma.
Hopefully,she will also make the same contributions to network TV again,soon.
Kathy or Roseanne would be great. Cho would never be considered. I just read that she is a stripper now and is selling sex paraphernalia and porn.
Roseanne would be too out of control. At least Rosie researches her beliefs (even the crazy ones) Roseanne just makes up stuff.
I would LOVE Kathy Griffin but don’t you think the celebs she “roasts” would suddenly boycott the show?
I woud LOVE her! I saw her on two shows not long ago and I was stunned how much she interested me. She is not a “my opinon is the right” one kind like Rosie. She was funny as ever but mature and not so aggressive. She even said she has grown up alot.
I miss Lisa too. I haven’t really watched it since she left though. You’re right about Margaret Cho and Kathy Griffin- I’d start watching again!
Barbara Walters hates kathy Griffin. It’s never gonna happen. But what about Star’s replacement? They still haven’t handled that.
