It was just announced that Clay Aiken will present the Excellence in Media Award to Tyra Banks at The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) media awards event on March 28 in New York City.
Clay most recently made headlines when FYB broke news that he had been dropped from RCA due to poor album sales.
Meanwhile, Carrie Underwood is scheduled to perform on next week’s American Idol, which will feature a Grand Ole Opry theme as contestants select and perform songs popularized by Opry members. She’ll sing I Told You So alongside fellow Opry member Randy Travis.
Says Carrie in a just-released statement: “I am so excited that two of my musical passions, American Idol and the Grand Ole Opry, are joining together to create a really special week of music. I am always thrilled to return to the Idol stage, and am so proud to this time be bringing with me one of my heroes, Randy Travis. I knew the Opry first, but Idol gave me my start and helped lead me to the Opry stage. It’s a great feeling to be able to help bring these two worlds together.”

Is there really anyone out there that actually listens to music that this guy makes!?!?!
I love Clay’s voice!
Earl the Pearl…………lots of people listen to Clay.
I get a kick out of this article saying that they broke the news of Clay being dumped. Wrong on two accounts. You were not the first and secondly, he was not dropped. Ever read the legit press who have the real story??
To Earl the Pearl, Clay sold over 7 million of his 5 albums and headlined 9 national tours. The guy is a multimillionaire with a huge mansion and multiple fancy cars. He wasn’t dropped either. He didn’t re-sign when his 5 year contract ran out.
I’m impressed by Carrie. She’s done well for herself.
