In a statement, his reps said while Chris would like to speak directly to his fans, he can’t because of his criminal case.
“Chris very much appreciates the support of his fans and the honor they have paid him in the way of nominations for Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song. Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding the incident last month has shifted the focus from the music to whether he should be allowed to be among those nominated. While Chris would like to speak to his fans directly about this and other issues, pending legal proceedings preclude his doing so at this time. Once the matter before him has been resolved, he intends to do so.”

I really think that his camp underestimate the level of vitriol there is for him and they still believe that once his court case is resolved that his career will resume once again. Think again. And Rihanna better cut her losses before her career is adversely affected as well.

I agree with all three comments posted here. His name had no business being on the ballot on an award selected by KIDS. If Rihanna wants to have any semblence of a career she best kick his beating butt to the curb for real & for good.
A good face-saving measure, though I doubt he had any choice. With the petition warming up on the internet, the organizers may have dumped him had he not withdrawn. They need their advertising revenue.
From what i’ve read on his Youtube videos, some of his fans still love him (him music).
But obviously his career will have a stumble, who knows what will happen.
I’m not gonna lie though if both there careers ended I wouldn’t care, I never liked either of their music that much.

Those asshole executives at Nickelodeon should *never* have permitted his name to be on the ballots in the first place! At least the folks at Radio Disney showed some basic common sense and pulled Brown’s songs from rotation. I wish there was a petition demanding that those in charge of the Kid’s Choice award get their asses fired.
Chris Brown and his “camp” are clearly delusional if they expect the public is going to forget he is a violent woman beater. His entire image is blown. The pre-teen fan girls and their mothers don’t worship guys to punch, choke and bite women without remorse. He is a creepy douchebag. I can’t stand the sight of his smug ugly face.
This is the best decision he has made in this whole mess. To think that someone who has been accused of domestic violence could be honored at a kid’s award show is kind of sickening and I’m sure parents of those kids that watch that show would not want their kids looking up to an asshole like him. I think his people probably knew that Nickelodeon wouldn’t let him win anyway.
