DOES THEIR CHARITY KNOW NO END?

brad-hampton-party-green.jpg

Brad Pitt is one busy man.

In addition to saving New Orleans with his green housing project, the sexy dogooder is putting together an intimate dinner, at which he will appear with his babymama Angelina Jolie, in the Hamptons to raise funds for his New Orleans housing projects. Helping to wrangle in the big names—and bigger pocketbooks—are Tribeca Film Festival cofounders and movie producers Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff, who will host the soiree.

The invitation reads:

Nearly two years after Hurricane Katrina, residents of the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans are still struggling to rebuild. Brad Pitt started the “Make it Right” project after he visited the devastated area. He hopes to preserve the unique culture and spirit of the Ninth Ward by rebuilding a neighborhood inspired by safe and sustainable “green” homes in one of the hardest hit communities in Louisiana.

And if any of you Brangelunatics plan on making it out to the Hamptons in order to catch a glimpse of Hollywood’s golden couple, don’t bother. The couple is said to be traveling in and out by helicopter and not staying the weekend.

At least he isn’t preachy about what he does and its good that he’s doing all this charity work because he clearly loves it since its related to architecture. Angie has been good for him

I’m all for helping Hurricane Katrina victims but why do we only hear about people in New Orleans? There are still homeless people in Mississippi!

^^ YES.. Hallelujah.. thank you! If they are using their money and celebrity to do wonderful worthwhile projects like this, they can be all the “media whore” they want. cuz if it wasn’t for them staying relevant .. they wouldn’t be big attractions for a charity benefit to fund this grand gesture!!

    BRAVO BRANGELINA!

Well, since Brad & his whore are worth probably over 150 million it really is not all that outstanding that they are giving back to charity. After all, they both made all that money doing nothing more important than pretending to be other people while being filmed. It ain’t nuclear science here folks!

HE is doing good but I am still leery on how genuine it is…..also I saw the first half of the interivew and he really is not well-spoken. I was surprised.

^ yeah, cuz it’d be equally great if they took their money and spent it on new clothes, more houses, more cars, more islands, more shoes, instead of giving to a worhtwhile cause.. :OPPPPPP for crying out loud, i can smell your bitterness from here. (and let us not forget, it’s not only $$ he’s giving up, it’s his TIME, and time is money)

no one HAS to do anything, regardless of how much they make. love the fact that brad’s helping out. this country needs it and we’re not getting it from the govt.

New Orleans is getting help from the government, they are throwing money down the drain there so fast its unbelieveable. They just don’t understand the Louisiana mentality, you have to pay off so many people before you’re able to do anything it costs 3 to 4 times as much as needed. Now, because the New Orleans homeowners (notice I didn’t say residents) have the gov’t over a barrel and hugging their ankles - all they have to do is cry to the press and the gov’t gets such a bad rap - its easier just to pay them off.

If Brad & Angelina are worth 150 million why are they pimping themselves to wealthy Hamptonites for donations?

there is hate and bitterness with this family and that’s fine. to each their own.
but i agree with lolly. he is giving up his time to do this. anyone can make more money but no one can make more time.
it’s easier to write a check, but to take time out and do something can be even more meaningful.
you can say SO-AND-SO has a gabillion dollars, but only a handful of those are giving back.

jonesy; well that each make at least 15 to 20 mill a movie. So do the math!

I wasn’t denying the fact that they could both be worth 150 million, I was just asking why they would need outside donations for this project, seems like they could fund it themselves.

I have no probelm with Brad helping out. However notice that he only does this when he is pimping a movie. I think it was last year at this time when Babel was coming out that he did exactly the same thing. Then nothing from him until the next movie. Perfect timing? Also I agree with the above. Donate millions of their own money. Just think if they both donated one movie’s salary each that would be forty million dollars! they make like two to three movies a year surely they could live off the the other 40 million. Also why preach green and say that we depend on oil to much when they fly all over the world in a private plane? Just asking.

whatever, some people just have to find something negative and bitchy to say. waaa, waaa, waaa. secondly Gabriel, you need to do some more research, if you don’t think the GOV wastes the money and is majorly to blame, do you know how many millions of $ were thrown away first obtaining ice (when there were numerous offers for donations), then storing it and then MELTING IT DOWN?!!! fuck. the ice situation alone makes me want to puke.

Give it to me Brad!!! Arh I mean keep giving Brad! I don’t care what all the haters said, just do what you do baby. He can give as much as little, as often as seldom (only when he has a movie out) or whatever, as long as you give, that to me is a good thing. If all the hollywood stars would give something like this everytime they have some type of movies/cd to promote, hey… A world maybe a better place.

Next week is the 2nd anniversity of Katrina. These homes represent signs of hope.

Lolly why don’t you come down here and do some research. I’m not saying the federal gov’t isn’t a giant screw up but the fact that everyone expected them to come down and “fix” everything is a joke, this needs to be done on a local level like in my town. I live in Mississippi and we are building back at three times the speed and with just a dollar to every $8 going to New Orleans. There comes a time when you stop blaming the government and dig in and get your hands dirty.

Since when is it the governments job to save everyone? We’re not socialists the gov’t is not here to take you from cradle to grave.

Brad Pitt doesn’t have to ever lift a finger another day in his life. I have to respect the fact that he gives back. Good guy.

OMFG! !!!! DUMBSHITS IT’S NOT THE GOV’S JOB TO SAVE EVERYONE, BUT THEY FUCKING MANDATED THAT EVERYTHING GOES THROUGH FEMA, BUSINESSES WERE LINING UP TO HELP OUT AND THEY WERE TURNED AWAY, FEMA TOOK OVER EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fuck ignorance pisses me off. sorry for cursing and caps. Gabriel, the woman that gave birth to me lives in NO, so I’m very well acquainted with what went and IS going on.

Brad is planning this dinner himself, huh? I can see him now, making phone calls, meeting with caterers, planning the color scheme…

So FEMA has taken over everything? Is that why my church sent 200 volunteers -including me- to NOLA this summer to help H4H build 30 houses in 30 days? Is that why Brad Pitt is able to do this project? Work is being done over there its just it was so screwed up before Katrina its not going to happen overnight. And Gabriel I’m not sure what is going on in Miss. but it sounds like its not as bad there as in New Orleans.
