It’s almost like a week cannot go by without a Hollywood celeb getting arrested for a DUI.
This week’s drunken celeb du jour? Bill Murray.
The ‘Lost in Translation’ star faces a drunken driving charge in Sweden after cruising through downtown Stockholm in a golf cart and refusing a breathalyzer test — citing U.S. law.
If found guilty, Bill will most likely be fined.
While it’s not illegal to drive a golf court on city streets, it is illegal to drive with a blood alcohol level that exceeds the legal limit.
The things they don’t tell you in those stupid travel books!

yea, dude I know of got a DUI on a bike in the city.. LOL.. don’t think he could have hurt anyone but himself, unless he caused an accident by swurving into a lane or something.

Here in Houston a man and his wife were on their way home from the club in a golf cart, they were both over the limit. The guy swerved, the woman fell out onto her head and died. He was initially charged with murder, he plea bargained down to manslaughter I think, didn’t serve any actual time.

You need to be sober to drive a GOLF CART?!?! Don’t they only go like 7 miles an hour?…oh, Barks, that story is horrible! …Maybe all a golf cart needs is seat belts.

Barks that IS a terrible story but I wonder if people are going to be more forgiving of Bill Murray than Lohan. Probably because this is actually a one off thing and he isn’t a lunatic. As long as justice is served and he isn’t given nicer treatment then I’m fine with this.

i was going to say something about how much damage could possibly be done in a golf cart and then i read barks’ story. awe.

I tried to google the story to put the link but I can’t find it, it was prob 2 - 3 years ago. The D.A’s office was going really hard on the guy and the guy was accepting responsibility but he was also 60 - 70 years old and didn’t want to serve hard prison time plus he was truly grieving for his wife. It was just a sad story every way you looked at it.
