They grow up so fast, don’t they?
It seems like only yesterday that Matilda Ledger was a little newborn. But the 3-year-old toddler proved she’s growing up fast as she got a laboured escort from her mom Michelle Williams out of an awaiting SUV this morning (March 1) at LAX Airport in Los Angeles.
If it appears that Matilda has seemingly overcome her father Heath Ledger’s untimely death and the hoopla that followed shortly thereafter with the grace of someone much older and wiser, it’s for good season. “Michelle keeps her very closeted,” Matlida’s grandfather Kim Ledger tells Fox’s Pop Tarts. “I [don't] think she’ll really know very much about the fuss of what’s going on, which I think is a good thing.”
As for those rumours about rocky relations between Michelle and Heath’s immediate family? Don’t believe everything you read, says Kim. “We’re very close with Michelle. She’s doing an amazing job with Matilda, and we speak all the time so we’re in constant contact and always will be.”

Wow, you guys are loosing it, that is a horrible thing to say that a 3 year old has gotten over her father’s death. It’s not at all funny. And as we all know, that at such a young age she obviously doesn’t even understand what has happened to Heath.
Wow it must be great that Michelle has to have
Heath in her publicity. Yes children learn to move on and what if she marries this director.
He becomes her stepfather. What are you the

be raised by anyone other than Heath Ledger
whose legend is to die face down naked on his
bed with a overdose of oxcycodin. And Matilda’s
mom BROKE UP WITH HEATH AT THE TIME OF HIS DEATH. SO IT IS NOT AS IF HE WAS LIVING WITH HER AT THE TIME. SO SUCK IT UP AND LET HER
LIVE HER OWN LIFE AND NO ONE NEEDS TO TELL THE
PUBLIC THAT SHE LOOKS LIKE HER DAD. THAT IS THE
ONLY REASON HEATH’S FAMILY IS INTERESTED IN HER.
It isn’t horrible as much as it is ridiculous. She’s 3 years old for heaven’s sake. HOw is she supposed to be dealing? She has no frickin’ clue what is going on and will have no recollection of her father whatseover. To say she’s showing grace is just outrageous, seriously.
Heath Ledger was a drug addict. He died of an overdose. He and Michelle split because he kept cheating on her. Heath was dating Jemma Kidd and sleeping with one of those Olsen twins at the time of his death. Michelle has every right to move on with her life! I hope she finds happiness with Spike and that he turns out to be a better partner for her than Heath Ledger, and a good step father for Matilda.
Heath never cheated on Michelle. He loved her until the day he died, and she will always love him. Heath had been clean & sober for 17 months when he passed. All his medications were for legitimate reasons, and according to the medical examiner’s report, they were found in the prescribed doses or less in his system. He did not do anything wrong, and took them they way they had been prescribed to him.
It’s best not to speculate based on press, because most is not accurate.
Heath & Michelle split because through it all, and through her working constantly beginning 6 months after Matilda was born, they grew apart. He had his struggles and overcame them but he was a good man. To me, he was always kind and thoughtful, gentle and generous. He was sensitive and fragile, but stronger than any of you know. I was always blown away by his brilliance, yet he never made me feel less . . . he built you up, he was truly interested in what you had to say, and he was wonderful about encouraging when it was needed. He always understood how you felt, and was really good at knowing what to say to help.
Heath loved his little girl and there is no man who would be a better father to her. I am saddened that she will not become the woman she could have if she had his hand guiding her. I also don’t care for the phrase “moved on” . . . Matilda is young, but in the future, she will really feel the loss of this man who loved her with everything he had.
I think it’s good that Michelle is kind of sheltering Matilda from it all now, because really at her age she is not going to understand what happened at all. I’m sure she still misses her daddy and wonders why he isn’t around anymore, but there will be a time in the future when she’s a little older where Michelle will be able to talk to her about it a bit more. I think Michelle seems like an awesome mom and it really can’t be easy for her at all.
Phyllis, are you one of those deluded Heath and Michelle fans, or Brokeback Mountain? Heath WAS dating AND inlove with Gemma Ward at the time of his death, so how can you come on here pretending that he was still inlove with Michelle. If he loved her so much, why didn’t he stop partying and stayed at home and behave like a husband? Actually, why didn’t he MARRY HER if he was so inlove with her like you claim? You are just a fantasist. There is no denying that there must have been a time Heath did love Michelle but when he really got to know her, he just seemed to distance himself from her. He was constantly seen in concerts, with his friends, or alone, and never ever with her. He didn’t even spend Valentine’s Day of 2007 with her. Then he spends Christmas in Australia with Gemma Ward, was seen on several dates with her, even went and thanked an Australian journalist for leaving them alone and you STILL believe he was inlove with Michelle. I’m sorry, but that boy had been MUCH more inlove with Naomi Watts, for example, than he had ever been with Michelle Williams and everyone who was ever a true fan of Heath from his early days KNOWS it.

Yes, Heath did love Michelle, however he did not marry her becasue he knew he could not and would not meet her idea of a marriage partner.
This was definitely not a relationship meant to last. Call it what it was. A fling which turned serious once she became pregnant.
Everyone points their finger at Heath as the bad guy in all of this,however,Michelle was no saint during the relationship.She did a few childish things to him out of spite and control.
First, the chick decided to do a soft porn scene in March of 2007 in the movie “Incendiary”.
As I recall they were still together. Was money that necessary? They didn’t releas it until the end of 2008! Gee, I wonder why?
I am very sure seeing her up on the silver screen naked with another man -had to bother him to some degree and if she truly cared about him and their daughter -she would not have done that movie.

Then of course the threats of making him take drug tests in order to see his daughter?? The woman had to know he had issues long before little Matilda came along and during their relationship.
Was she making him take drug tests when he was with her? I doubt it.
She knew his fragilities and attacked once she realized she had no power. Childish indeed.
She is not the reason he died however and he did not intentionally kill himself. He was very sick,had jet lag and yes -depressed.
If he was going to kill himself -he would not have played around by taking six pills.He was not stupid and he loved his daughter very very much. The idea of the split was to re-evaluate the relationship.To see if he could beat his deamons on his own and possibly come back.
He was right for removing himself from the household to work out his issues and he was right for not marrying her as this would have been much uglier. He was being honest with himself and her.
Let’s remember these are people like the rest of us. They do stupid things just like the rest of us and are definitely NOT immune to doing stupid things.
