Sure, it may not be Paris Hilton or Carmen Electra frolicking beachside in their barely there bikinis, but Oscar-winner Sean Penn ain’t lookin’ too bad for a 47-year-old!

The hunky A-lister showed off his award-worthy beach body at a Malibu party over the weekend.

Is he officially forgiven for the whole Hugo Chavez thing?

He actually looks more in shape than I expected. The last pics of him weren’t this flattering, maybe he’s working out for a movie role?

Herpes I agree with you on BDT but on Sean Penn? He just seems too out there for me. The Chavez thing is just another candle on the freak cake.

Oh please. Its not the first time SP has said stuff that was offensive to some people. We’re all over Jane Fonda AKA Hanoi Jane now, aren’t we?

BTW.. I don’t get the whole “Is he officially forgiven for the whole Hugo Chavez thing?” Forgiven for what.. being anti iraq war??? several other political stars have visited with Chavez.. doesn’t make them anti american.. chastising him for collecting information from other world leaders to be more educated and make more informed decisions rather than digest the info we are hand fed by mainstream media.. mmmmmm.. that sounds close minded. (maybe that is being anti-american, the rest of the world seems to think we are close minded bafoons).

Only.1., it seems you have forgotten that Chavez is extremely anti-American. That man is a liar and a hypocrite. Do your frickin’ homework, Only.1!!

Woah Woah.. I am in no way condoning anything Chavez says or does.. meeting with the man does not make one anti american. Some people like to hear the views of others whether they agree or not with some or all of their points. Many people and countries are anti iraq war.. even many americans.. that, to my knowledge, was the whole premise to the visit.. possibly showing anti americans that not all americans think the same and not all americans support all american policies. I just think a lot of why this whole world is so f’ed up is cultures and countries being so one sided thinking everything they think is right.. AND LAST TIME I CHECKED, THE WHOLE BUSH ADMIN IS A BUNCH OF LIARS AND HYPOCRITS AS WELL… did a little homework last night.. thanks.. just cuz we don’t agree, do not insult my intelligence.

Also, herpes, I’m against the Iraq war by I’ll never be pro-Chavez. The man is a tyrant and a small scale Stalin. Secret police, late night arrests where people disappear, cancelling free elections. Sean Penn has the right that every other American does, to form his own opinions - no matter how disgusting - but to actually have a sit down with him? Thats going a bit too far. Just like Joe Kennedy never got past being pro-Hitler I personally will never get over Sean Penn doing this.
    -
And, Lola, I’m not over Jane Fonda either. Like I’ve said, her opinions are hers and more power to her, but when she goes over to Viet Nam and happily poses with people who have emprisoned and abused our service people, basically calling POWs who claimed abuse liars, she’ll never get anything other than disdain from me.

I think we’re getting off course here a little. Chavez and anti-Iraq war and Vietnam are all different issues (and kind of out of place between Britney and Olsen twins posts IMHO).
    .
I agree Chavez is evil but he will have to be dealt with eventually, Venezuela is one of the largest producers of oil and we live in an oil based society - like it or not. Someone either needs to start a dialogue with him or fund the CIA to help overthrow him.

But doesn’t the fact that Jane’s explaination of the photo (that she didn’t realize what she was doing etc etc) just show you that these are just dumb actors…probably vying for attention? I mean, it’s not like Sean Penn has any political power to change any policy…what would Chavez even bother to meet with him (except, I guess to try to embarass Bush?)…I’m just sick of actors who think they have some sort of power. Yes, have an opinion. God knows I do..and freedom of speech is an American foundation but this heightend sense of self-worth because you are an actor is just going too far…What did SP really think he could do by meeting with Chavez?? Did he really think he could do ANYTHING? Isn’t that ridiculous?

IM NOT PRO CHAVEZ FOR GOD SAKES.. GEEZ READ THE POST PEOPLE.. but I get what ur saying.. from what I heard he was going as a journalist to get info regarding world view on the Iraq War.. Danny Glover sat down with him too.. guess he’s a traitor too??? Whatever.. I am not in anyway defending Chavez. EVER.. ok, please do not think that.. thank you.

  19. Yo!
    19

Agreed Lola2 with your Sean Penn point. As far as Jane Fonda, I’ll accept her apology but I’ll never forget her actions. I did crazy crap when I was under 30 too that I wish I could take back and I have spent the last 15 years of my life trying to make up for them but it still doesn’t remove certain actions from my past.
    .
And herpes, I’m sorry I didn’t think you were pro-Chavez. I think Penn met with him to embarrass Bush just like he brought that film crew down to New Orleans. Penn has a political agenda - no one should think he’s going on some fact finding mission. He knows where the story begins and ends before he gets down there then sckews the view to match what he already believes to be true.

Wow he’s hot! His body looks so interesting, just like his face. And I’m not from the US so I don’t give a fuck about if Sean Penn hates the hell out of that country, only I think he don’t.

  21. only.1.without.herpes
    21

Thanks Yo! .. to some degree though, doesn’t everyone sckew things to match what they already believe… that was my point that being open minded and taking in information outside of american media CAN be a positive thing, that’s all…… and I dont’ think Bush needs any help embarrassing himself LOL.

  22. Yo!
    22

I’m sure you’re right Edna, I’m sure Sean Penn loves Venezuela, probably Cuba and China too for that matter.
    -
And herpes you are right, everyone should be open minded, get information for all kinds of sources and form their own opinion. The problem is too many people are too busy with their own lives to do so. Instead, they look at someone like Sean Penn, they recognize the name / maybe they think he’s a good actor, and suddenly his views become their views and they aren’t sure why.

  23. only.1.without.herpes
    23

Yea, not everyone can think for themselves which is what keeps dictators like Chavez in power.. and other overbearing world leaders.. and they aint all dictators!

    24

Yo!, ur ok in my book!

  25. Edna
    25

Yo! with “that country” I meant the US… it’s just another country to me. Or did I missunderstand you (not?) missunderstanding me?

I try to stay away from the politics discussions on this board for some reason, but I definitely have to say that I dont think Bush needs any help embarrassing himself either….other than that my mouth is shuutttt

  27. gblinda
    27

Penn could’ve gone and met with the locals of Venezuela, not a dictator. Go to Cuba and meet with the people, not Castro. I love Sean Penn and i’m very liberal but there are some people you just keep away from. Why not North Korea next?

  28. SAS
    28

I think he looks bloody hot here and in that video! (I had the same thoughts as OK haha!)
I didn’t have any sound so didn’t hear his offensive comments but i’m in the same boat as only1. If everyone blindly followed what your government fed you without travelling and seeing how others live that is what would be offensive.

Da Devil you are an idiot. Chavez will not let the UN come and supervise elections. Castro is elected every few years too, do you think that’s a fair election too?!
