JULIA LOUIS-DREYFUSS DOES ‘SHAPE’

shape-julia-louis-dreyfusJulia Louis-Dreyfus is the latest actress to flash her abs in the new issue of Shape.

In the mag, the 48-year-old actress and mom of two sons (16-year-old Henry and 11-year-old Charles) dishes on one of her many secrets to remaining slim: breakfast!

“‘It’s hard for me to eat in the morning,” she says. “But I recently discovered something I love: two eggs fried in olive oil and a slice of whole-wheat toast with honey. It tastes so good, and I don’t get crazy-hungry before lunch — that’s when I start to make bad food choices. I’ve found the key to healthy eating is finding foods you really like. That way you don’t feel ripped off when you can’t have a fattening doughnut or whatever you’re craving.”

A few more highlights:

Julia on her sweet tooth: “I have a chocolate drawer in my desk where I keep treats at all times. As long as I can have one or two pieces, I’m fine. But my biggest food vice is bacon. And no, I don’t have a bacon drawer. In fact, I don’t keep bacon in my house — that would be way too tempting.”

Julia on her workout routine: “In a perfect world, I’d do it five times a week. Honestly, though, it’s less than that. But if I go a few days without exercise, I always come back to it. I find I actually crave it. It makes a huge difference in terms of my metabolism and keeping my weight steady.”

Julia on her elliptical machine: “It’s a very efficient way of fitting in exercise. When I can, I try to go for a four-mile run. I love to break a sweat. If I’ve gotten in a huge run, I feel like I’ve really done an effective workout.”

Julia on plastic surgery: “Of course if things start to fall, I may have to do something to pull it all up. But seriously, the whole idea scares me. My mom never had it done and she looks fantastic. Hopefully I’ll follow in her footsteps. I don’t judge anyone who’s had plastic surgery, but I don’t see it in my future. And my husband [writer/producer Brad Hall] is 100 percent against it!”

Do they use the same body and just photoshop a different celebs head on top each month?

The media’s singular focus on youthful-looking 40+ women is a bit disturbing. I mean, I’m happy that Julia Louise-Dreyfus and other women 40 and over are healthy and taking care of themselves, but my God aging isn’t the end of the world!! Are women of a certain age not allowed on magazine covers anymore? They work out too.

It is a bit strange that just about every 40+ celebrity is now looking like they’re 25 years-old. And they’re all starting to look like each other too!! It’s just creepy.

I love her honesty in this interview. She doesn’t just go with the usual, I work out four days a week and eat no junk food and stick with lots of fruit etc. She looks really good and everyone knows that she airbrush every magazine cover so get over it.
